My husband loves the “natural way I look” without using any makeup or salon products. Fortunately he leaves for work before I start my daily beauty routine, and he sleeps late on weekends. This gives me all the time I need to have a secret affair with my salon products that I’ve hidden in places no man ever goes – like the medicine cabinet and the space under the sink.

It’s not that I HAVE to mislead him but, hey, if he “loves me like I am” there’s no reason to tell him that the “real me” is perfectly happy to get a little help from my friends at PureOlogy, Aquage, Redken, Paul Mitchell, Graham Webb and others. Their salon products work hard to make the “enhanced me” look like the “real me” and my husband doesn’t have a clue!

You see, that’s what really goes on when you select quality salon products to help you look your best. You’re simply enhancing the real you by filling in and smoothing over those parts of your body that Mother Nature was too busy to take care of herself

Using what I call the “top down approach” I start the morning off by pampering my hair with a shampoo and conditioner from one of my favorite salon product gurus like Paul Mitchell or Graham Webb.

After towel drying my hair and body I move on to catering to my skin. Because skin comes under attack every day from sunlight, household chemicals, pollutants, and general environmental nastiness, I apply a body moisturizer everywhere but my face, which gets a special face moisturizer but only after I’ve splashed on an alcohol and fragrance-free skin toner like Botanical Tonique, the one offered by the salon products experts at Pharmagel.

All of the better salon products companies have good moisturizers; just make sure that you choose one that is oil-free and contains agents that will bind your body’s natural moisture to the skin.

My next stop is my eyes. Since I am such a wise woman and a happy one too, I’m “blessed” to have little crinkles and wrinkles of joy and knowledge under my eyes. While women who have no idea how to get rid of them will tell you that they make you look attractive, I know a lie when I hear one. That’s why I reach into my salon products bag of tricks and grab a bottle of Genie Instant Line Smoother. If you’re thinking caked on cover-up, think again. The better salon products brand of line smoother makeup gently fills in the wrinkles, lines, and creases in your skin. It’s not just for the eyes either. Lots of women use line smoother to attack lines and wrinkles on their forehead, mouth, and neck and bust line.

A little touch of this, a little dab of that, and before you know it – my investment in salon products has paid off and I’m looking forward to hearing how “naturally beautiful” I look today!

When a person wishes to purchase an anti aging skin care product, they will most likely wind up choosing a cream because it is one of the most popular forms of anti aging skin care products on the market.

These anti aging creams are broken down into three different categories, including natural, herbal, and artificial cream products.

Herbal Creams

Herbal creams are the most popular choice because of marketing – advertised as not creating any side effects. But when using any new product, testing it for a short period of time is suggested to make sure there is no allergic reaction to any of the anti aging skin care products that you are considering.

Natural Products

Choosing a natural anti aging skin care product means that they will be encountering a cream consisting of collagen, as well as ingredients extracted from plants that are used to combat wrinkles in the skin.

Many people turn to the use of anti aging skin care products to achieve a more youthful appearance and feel better about themselves while battling the natural occurrence of aging.

The aim of some anti aging skin care products is to enhance the skin’s texture, as well as retain an extra amount of moisture within the body.

Many find anti aging skin care products beneficial for achieving a more contoured, toned body with a reduction in the appearance of fat throughout the body.

Excessive drying and wrinkles, which is the number one culprit regarding signs of aging, move many to try an anti aging skin care product. There are plenty of products on the market to fight against these natural signs.

When sporting a tired, dry face, an anti aging skin care product with soy extract should be considered.

For women, it is the loss of estrogen that creates this excessively dry skin.

Some face creams to consider include Murad Sheer Lustre Day Moisture ($60) and Kinerase Cream ($65), which not only offers soy, but also features an anti-withering agent found in some plants.

Wrinkles

As a natural effect of aging, wrinkles creep up on the face and body of everyone. The loss of collagen can sometimes create wrinkles. Retin-A is one of the best anti aging skin care products on the market for wrinkles.

If you are looking for an over-the-counter option, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF 15, available for $12.99.

So, what causes the most wrinkles on a face besides stress? Sun damage is to blame, which makes it important to use sunscreen throughout the entire year. Sun damage can occur even during the winter season, as well as on a day filled with clouds.

Moisturizers

To get the most out of your anti aging skin care products, two moisturizers should be purchased: one for night use and one for daytime use that contains sunscreen. Keep in mind that sunscreens should contain at least one of the following ingredients: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, or avobenzene.

UV protection

If you are looking for a good anti aging skin care product with UV protection, consider purchasing Olay Total Effects 7X Visible Anti-Aging Vitamin Complex with UV Protection during your next grocery store trip. This product contains an avobenzone-based sunscreen and contains no fragrances or artificial colors. The anti aging properties of this product do not come from retinal, but is found within the sunscreen and it is filled with additional vitamins, including vitamin C, zinc, titanium, magnesium, as well as vitamin E.

The patch of dry, red skin on your baby is likely eczema. Although anyone can get it at any age, it most often appears during infancy. But what exactly is the cause of eczema? There are many things that come into contact with your skin that can irritate it but the most common are, rubbing the skin, moisture from saliva or milk, overheating or sweating, wool or other scratchy fabrics, common house dust, cat or dog dander, smoke, harsh detergents or soaps and water. Now if your infant shows signs of eczema, the sooner you eliminate any of the above, the quicker you may be able to get it under control. You can buy prescription or non prescription eczema cream but the one of the safest is plain old petroleum jelly such as Vaseline. Apply as often as necessary to keep the skin soft and supple.

Now if you or your little one has a flare up of eczema, here are some things to do to keep it under control. First, limit that amount of time you spend in the bath tub, shower or swimming pool. Second, make sure to moisturizer a lot. Apply eczema cream or petroleum jelly as often as necessary. Keeping the rash moist will help clear it up quicker. Third, wear cotton clothing as much as possible. Fourth, stay cool and try to minimize the amount of sweating. If you need to work out, use good judgment and don’t over do it. Finally, try not to scratch. You may not know the cause of eczema but hopefully these tips will help.

If you face an eczema inflamed cycle, you may need to treat it with more than just Vaseline. The recommended suggestion is to buy an over the counter cortisone cream. Now it is not recommended for everyday use, but it can be effective in breaking the cycle. Eczema cream with cortisone includes Cortaid and Hydrocortisone. These are relatively mild and should do the trick. Once the cycle is broken, reduce the amount applied and gradually stop. A recommendation is to track in a notebook what is the cause of eczema and discuss this with your doctor. It is also recommended that you meet with your doctor before any prescription or nonprescription moisturizers are used.

Elements from Mother Nature have been a part of beauty regimens for centuries and she continues to provide us a bounty of hydration, antioxidants and emollients ingredients. There is Evening Primrose Oil, considered the “King’s Cure-all”, reputed for its healing powers in a wide range of ailments. Its secret is its essential fatty acid GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid).

Then we have glycerin, a natural moisture magnet found in natural soaps. Glycerin helps to attract and draw moisture from the air into the skin. Jojoba and almond oils also offer deep hydration to the skin.

Mimicking the lipid content of skin ingredients are canola oil, coconut oil, corn oil, jojoba oil, lecithin, olive oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, and sweet almond oil, which can all be extremely helpful for your skin.

Natural skin care formulations maximize the therapeutic values of natural and organic ingredients. And, each ingredient provides its own distinctive properties from nourishment, rejuvenation, anti-inflammatory to repairing the skin. As a result, natural skin care products deliver penetrating holistic benefits to the skin and usually without side effects.

Mother Nature’s Version to Anti-aging There is an array of anti aging supplements that can help to eliminate the signs of aging and when blended together create skin rejuvenation nutrients. For example, you will find antioxidants benefits in natural skin care product containing Grape seed Extract, Olive Oil and Green Tea.

Plus, antioxidants such as vitamin E act to protect your cells against the effects of free radicals, which can be found in green leafy vegetables, and fortified cereals. Of course, there are excellent natural skin care products that offer an antioxidant blend of Ester C (Vitamin C), Vitamin E, Vitamin A and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Wonderful food-grade carrier oils are light, non-sticky and allow for quicker absorption. Carrier oils facilitate the penetration of essential oils into the body. They are rich in natural fatty acids and can contain a number of vitamins including A and E which help keep the skin supple, regenerated and nourished.

She Offers You Younger Looking Skin Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) help to give the skin a younger look. AHAs consist of several acids that gently exfoliate dead surface skin cells, exposing smoother, younger-looking skin. These acids include citric acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid. Look for from naturally-occurring substances derived from citrus fruits, sugar cane and sour milk.

Take advantage of old fashioned facial clay masks made from fruit, honey or yogurt, these ingredients also provide AHAs as their active ingredients.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA; thioctic acid; lipoic acid) is a potent antioxidant that combats oxidative stress and is capable of chelation of metal ions, reparation of oxidized proteins, and regeneration of antioxidants such as ascorbic acid, tocopherol, and glutathione. ALA (fat soluble) and its reduced counterpart, dihyolipoic acid (DHLA) have proven effectiveness in both lipophilic and aqueous environments.

ALA adds to the antioxidant efficiency of vitamin C, vitamin E, and glutathione. In addition to this, ALA assists some important enzymes that are responsible for the conversion of food into energy.

In the modern city, free radicals are almost omnipresent; they have their potential sources in the environment, such as car exhaust, radiation, and ultraviolet rays. ALA helps the body in the ongoing fight against the toxic effects of free radicals. ALA has its benefit revealed in a number of diseases and disorders. Its usage slows the aging process, helps the liver to remove toxins, and decreases the adverse effects associated with some analgesic drugs. It also holds the efficiency of effectively removing glucose from the blood.

ALA shows its therapeutic benefit in complications associated with diabetes, such as macular degeneration, neuropathy, and cataracts. It has been found to be capable enough to reduce the symptoms associated with nerve damage (i.e. burning, pain, numbness) in diabetic patients. Because of its efficiency to cross the blood-brain barrier, the benefit of ALA in stroke and other brain disorders is probable. ALA is also of benefit in the treatment of HIV-AIDS, cancer, cognitive decline, and cardiovascular disease.

ALA proves beneficial to the human skin mainly by virtue of its potential antioxidant ability. The universal antioxidant inhibits cross-linking and thereby slows the aging process. It safeguards from wrinkling of the skin, hardening of the arteries, and stiffening of the joints. In one short-term study, a high dose of ALA was found to reduce mild-to-moderate wrinkles by up to 50 percent. In another study, ALA Cream usage resulted in a significant improvement in the appearance of certain types of scars.

ALA acts as a co-factor in a key biochemical pathway responsible for the production of energy in the cells (citric acid cycle). ALA exhibits a moderate anti-inflammatory effect and has a modest capacity to neutralize and eliminate a variety of toxic metals from the body. However, serious scientific research is required for the confident prescription of ALA Cream as a wrinkle cure option. Even then, the use of ALA Cream can be tried as a preferable remedy, because of its relative safety as compared to other marketed agents such as Retin A, vitamin C or glycolic acid.

One of the most significant disadvantages of ALA use is its high market cost. However, because of the ready availability of the R-form lipoic acid in the market, it is always preferential to home-prepare the cream for self-usage. This also helps optimize the dosage required. It should also be noted that only R-lipoic acid holds the efficiency to improve cellular energy production and reduce inflammation.

The topical products of Dr. Perricone, based on Alpha Lipoic Acid and vitamin C, include: N.V. Perricone ALA Nutritive Cleanser (to tone the skin), N.V. Perricone Vitamin C Ester Amine Complex Face Lift (lifts the skin and helps treat underlying causes of inelastic skin), N.V. Perricone ALA Eye Area Therapy (to nourish, restore, and protect the eye), N.V. Perricone ALA Lip Plumper (enhances fullness, contour and color of lips), N.V. When it comes to skin care products, you will find that a lot of people are very particular about using only natural skin care products. They treat all the synthetic products as harmful to the skin.

So, are natural skin care products the answer to all of our problems? What if a natural skin care product is not available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder? Are the synthetic skin care products so harmful that they should be banned?

Different people have different answers to these questions. However, the reality is that due to presence of synthetic preservatives, it’s really tough to find a natural skin care product that is 100% natural. There are natural skin care products that have natural preservatives, but their cost might be detrimental. Moreover, such natural skin products have a shorter shelf life and hence are not preferred by the manufacturers of natural skin care products.

Some people carry a wrong notion that since natural skin care products are natural, they cannot cause any harm to the skin. The suitability of a skin care product is not based on whether it is synthetic or natural. An unsuitable natural skin care product can harm you in almost the same way as a synthetic one. So, use natural skin care products, but be open to synthetic ones too (you might need them when a natural solution is not available)

Your selection of a natural skin care product should be based on 3 factors:

1. The skin type (dry, oily, normal, sensitive) of the person who will use that natural skin care product.

2. The climatic conditions in which it will be used e.g. hot and humid condition would warranty the use of oil-free natural skin care products.

3. The process for application/use of the natural skin care product. A good natural skin care product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

You can also make natural skin care products by yourself, by using the recipes that are readily available on the internet and in the books at book stores.

Use of organic fruits and vegetables is also popular as a natural skin care procedure. Some essential oils, herbal oils, are useful too and are known for their moisturising and antiseptic properties

However, using a natural skin care product does not mean that you can exercise carelessness with other aspects of skin care. Natural skin care products should be used like supplements to the following ‘essential’ recommendations: healthy eating habits (avoiding oily food), regular exercise, drinking a lot of water (8 glasses everyday), and cleanliness. This will then form a perfect and completely natural skin care routine that will help maintain a healthy beautiful skin for longer time.

In these last years scientists have been working to develop many products and procedures targeted to remove wrinkles. They say for many people is more important to look young than wise.

There is no solution for really reversing wrinkles. Nobody can stop the clock that reveals our age through the appearance of the skin. The progressive development of facial lines is the normal early mark of inevitable skin aging. We only can prevent them by starting using anti wrinkle creams before they appear.

Many women (and men) start using creams around eyes since they are in mid twenty. The natural levels of collagen in our skin lowers when aging. This protein is responsible for skin elasticity and strength. The collagen degradation leads to fine lines and wrinkles that reveal our real age. As consequence, the wrinkle prevention should start by using suitable creams that offer a collagen replacement in our skin.

Two final advices before you go preventing.

1. Use all-natural products, organically certified if possible.
2. People are not the same, they have different type of skins. What works for an oily skin, do not work for a dry one. So, before start using creams, you have to determine whether or not they match your skin type.

If you are like a lot of women over 30, you are possibly starting to worry about the dreaded w-word – wrinkles. With the abundance of anti aging skin care products on the market, you have to ask yourself if there is any truth to what these products say they can do. Customer testimonials and a myriad of clinical studies have shown that yes, indeed, anti aging products can work, but ultimately you must decide for yourself. What are they purported to do, exactly?

Anti aging products come in several different formulas – creams and lotions being the most popular. In addition to revitalizing your skin and reducing the signs of aging, a lot of products purportedly stimulate the renewal of skin cells, reduce under eye circles, hydrate skin, and smooth rough texture all while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles! Revitol Complete is but one of many products that boats the ability to dramatically reduce the signs of aging, revealing a radiant, younger you! Royal Gold Anti-Wrinkle Serum in another product claiming to reduce wrinkles while leaving your skin fresh and hydrated. These are but a few of the many products available for older skin, so go ahead and look around to see what works best for you.

Once upon a time, these products were available only by prescription from a licensed dermatologist. Now, that’s obviously not the case and what was once prescription-only has now become mass-market; the reason being now they are made with all natural and safe ingredients. Typically, it can take up to 30 days for one to see results with these products. Some boast results in as little as two weeks, but in general you should wait about a month before you see any significant improvement.

Most skin care products designed for older skin have some basics in common. They all have one, or a combination of, the following ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, argireline, Shea butter, and Edelweiss extract. Vitamin A, primrose oil and others can also be included, designed to give your skin the youthful and radiant glow it once had. Generally, after four to six weeks of continued use, you can see a dramatic improvement in your skin, possibly looking up to ten years younger than you did before! Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it? Of course, results are not typical and will vary depending on the individual. The bottom line is many people have seen promising results with these products, and the potential is there for you to, as well.

Avoiding the sun, quitting smoking, moisturizing daily, exercising and eating a healthy, balanced diet are all ways to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. In combination with these methods, using an anti-wrinkle cream will surely help to combat the signs of aging, and will be more effective when used with the methods listed above.

Everyone wants younger looking skin, and there’s no reason why you can’t have it!
