Laser Body Hair Removal is growing rapidy in popularity as men and women become more conscious of their body image. It is estimated that about one million Americans used laser treatment to remove body hair in 2003; this number has doubled since then. Interestingly, women outnumber men in seeking this treatment.

Laser treatment can be used to get rid of the unwanted hair on the face, lips, chin, legs, arms, back, underarm, shoulders, chest, neck, and bikini line. It is carried out by a qualified cosmetic surgeon in a hospital or medical facility on an out patient basis, and doesn’t normally require an anesthetic.

The process begins by shaving the treatment area. If the patient has dark skin, the cosmetic professional applies a bleaching cream to facilitate better body hair removal results. Once the treatment area has been shaved and cleaned, a local anesthetic may be administered to mitigate any discomfort to the patient during the procedure. But this may not always be necessary.

The surgeon uses a special instrument to deliver pulses of light into the hair follicle. The heat emitted from the laser damages the follicles and arrests hair development. The treatment may take an hour or so depending upon the area to be treated. The treatment time and intensity of the laser beam depends on the density and color of the body hair and the body surface from which the hair is to be removed.

The skin may become red immediately after the treatment. Sometimes, skin discoloration or burning may occur. After the laser body hair removal treatment, patients should avoid exposing the treated area to the sun. If it is unavoidable, a sun cream should be applied.

The areas of unwanted hair on women differ from that of men. Women are most keen to remove hair from lips, chin, bikini line area and the legs. Men use laser to remove hair from eyebrows, ears, neck, chest and back. The technique is especially preferred to remove hair from the back. Most men find back hair embarrassing, but have very few viable options to remove them. They have to depend on someone else if they have to shave or apply depilatory creams. The laser hair treatment is therefore the most convenient. It is permanent also.

In the case of leg hair, use of depilatory creams, shaving or waxing can be undertaken by both en and women but they can be tedious. Moreover, it may become necessary for many people to shave their legs daily to keep them smooth. Waxing legs isn’t as painful as waxing other areas such as bikini line, but it is very expensive.

Now a days anti aging is big problem, natural diet can reduce effect of anti aging. FOODS SUCH AS KALE, sweet potatoes, red bell peppers, black beans and brown rice can trip up Father Time before he comes creeping around adding body fat and depleting energy. As early as our twenties, a gradual decline in the immune and muscular systems begins to set in if not offset by restorative nutrients and regular exercise. It’s not simply the years that have a damaging effect on our bodies, it’s also those out-of-control free radicals–oxygen molecules that come unglued during normal cell functions. If not disarmed, the radical oxygen fragments attack our cell membranes and leave us vulnerable to such serious health problems as heart disease and cancer as well as signs of deterioration associated swith aging–sagging muscles, wrinkles and the need for reading glasses. Fortunately, the antioxidant nutrients–vitamins A, C and E, selenium and zinc–fight back. Here are specific foods that contain bodyguard nutrients and a dietary plan that promotes lasting vitality and timeless beauty.

Some Dietary Rules to Reduce Anti Aging Problem:

A diet rich in antioxidants stimulates the immune system and helps protect the body from signs of premature aging. Steal from time and live by the following guidelines:

1. Eat five vegetables and fruits daily. For nutrient density, choose produce in living color–deep greens, reds and oranges as in collard greens, tomatoes and mangoes.

2. Consume plenty of beans. For low-fat protein and high-quality fiber, make legumes–dry beans, peas, lentils or tofu–the focus of your meals several times a week.

3. Get enough calcium–800 to 1,200 milligrams daily. To keep your bones and teeth fortified, count on low-fat dairy products, especially yogurt, broccoli and spinach.

4. Get your fill of water. This is the nutrient your body needs in the greatest amount. Use a variety of liquids like diluted juices and herbal teas to achieve your quota of eight cups a day.

Causes of Oily Skin

Genetic – Genes can be such that your parents passed on ‘the oily skin gene’ to you and that is just the way it is. But you don’t have to resign your self to having oily skin. The right skin care regime will help to balance the pH of your skin and help you achieve a more ‘normal’ skin type.

Dietary – This is one area where you can have a strong influence. You choose what you eat and what you eat will affect your skin. Eat oily, greasy foods and your skin will reflect that. Eat healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables and your skin will reflect that too. Some vegetables are particularly good to help balance your skin and help reduce the oiliness of your skin. Some include:

Greens and fruits; drink Yarrow Tea; add Cucumber, parsley, Cabbage, Tomato to your cooking and salads.

Hormonal – Hormones influence your skin to a great extent. The birth control pill can cause some women to develop oily skin, while in others it can cause dryness of the skin. You should talk to your health professional about your concerns if you suspect your birth control pill to be causing you oily skin.

Pregnancy related – Pregnancy is a time when your body goes through a number of hormonal changes, these will tend to normalise themselves after birth, however, using a good quality, natural skin care regime can give you considerable relief while your pregnant and wish to get your oily skin under control.

Cosmetic products – Make sure your cosmetic products are natural, synthetic and artificial products have a habit of causing all sorts of skin reactions, apart from making your skin oilier than it already is.

Climatic – Hot, humid climates tend to cause oily skin. Again you can counteract this by using a high quality natural skin care regime and drinking lots of water (in excess of 3 litres per day).

Most commonly, teenagers are most likely to be affected by oiliness of the skin a however, hormonal changes, such as pregnancy, puberty, menstrual cycles etc., can affect the sebum secretions of the skin and result in oily skin. Although, generally with age the skin tends to become dryer, oily skin can still be a problem even during the middle stages of life, often referred to as ’middle age acne’. The up-side of oily skin is - it ages more slowly.

Skin Care for Oily Skin

First, let’s look at what NOT to do:

Do not wash your face more than once or twice a day.

Do not use soap to wash your face.

Do not use strongly astringent products (products that leaf your face feeling dry and dehydrated).

Now let’s look at what TO do:

Use a complete, natural skin care regime.

Two or three times a week use a deep cleansing mask specifically formulated for oily skin. Wildcrafted’s Green Earth Medicine Facial Clay has been specifically formulated for oily skin and includes ingredients such as Green Clay and Niaouli Hydrosol which are beneficial in treating your oily skin.

Wash your face no more than twice a day using a natural pH balanced cleanser. Wildcrafted’s Lemon Cleanser uses ingredients such as essential oils of Lemon and Lavender blended with Jojoba oil to cleanse, freshen and restore your skin.

Use a toner that is appropriate for oily skin. Wildcrafted’s Wild Herb Toner makes use of Witch hazel and Juniper Berry, which condition and tone the skin, while Grapefruit and Niaouli invigorate the skin prior to moisturising.

Use a moisturiser designed specifically for oily skin. Wildcrafted’s Avocado Day Crème contains wholesome oils like Wheatgerm and cocoa butter that moisturise and hydrate the skin without leaving a greasy feeling and essential oils of orange blossom and lemon to cleanse and soothe.

Use your natural skin care regime every single day.

Ensure your diet is very high in vegetables and very low in fatty foods.

Drink plenty of water each and every day!

What are anti-aging skin products?

Anti- aging skin products have completely revolutionized the concept of skin care. If you are ‘blessed’ with a dry type of skin then you have the best reasons to feel worried and anti-aging products are absolutely essential for you. After washing your face your skin feels tight and stretched. There is this dull and lifeless face that stares at you when you look into the mirror. You are horrified with the discovery of those dreaded fine lines around your eyes, mouth and cheeks. You ask yourself “Am I aging? But isn’t it too early?” You start to panic and are unable to figure out what can you do to prevent such immature aging? Relax. You still have time to rectify those fine lines with the repeated and daily use of anti-aging skin products. Anti- aging skin products prevent general ageing of the skin by providing reinforced protection against daily aggression. These anti-aging products fight both visible and invisible signs of ageing. So arrest those wrinkles with these anti-aging skin products before they start showing up and drive you crazy.

How do I choose an anti-aging product that will suit my dry skin?

The market is flooded with a variety of anti- aging products and each one of them is suited for individual skin types. You have got to carefully choose the right anti-aging skin product that will ideally and specifically suit your dry skin type. Some key anti-aging ingredients that you must check out in the anti-aging products that specifically suit your dry skin are hyaluronic acid, anti-oxidant grape seed, essential oils (olive, rosemary, emu, etc), silk proteins, glycolic acids, alpha hydroxy acids, anti-aging vitamins A, C, E and D and many more such active principles that will smoothen out fine lines and hydrate your skin. Try to select anti-aging products with the above-mentioned ingredients that will soften your rough and dry skin and provide adequate hydration. Make sure that your anti-aging skin product gets quickly absorbed into your skin and produces immediate results. Check out whether your anti-aging product is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and non-photo toxic. The last thing you expect is damaging your skin instead of repairing.

Types of anti-aging products

Anti-aging skin products are available for both men and women. Anti-aging products for dry skin are available in a variety of forms. You can choose from cleansing gels, multi-active toner, facial creams and lotions, face emulsions, shaving creams, shaving lotions, etc. Anti-aging products for men are specifically formulated to enhance the texture of a man’s thicker and tougher skin as compared to a woman’s skin that is far more soft and delicate. Most of these anti-aging skin products are loaded with the goodness of nature. So you don’t have to lose sleep over any drastic side effects as most of the anti-aging products contain various natural ingredients extracted from plants and herbs that provide optimal nourishment to your dry and parched skin.

Today, cosmetic surgery is an extremely common procedure carried out on both the young and the old. Most cosmetic surgery patients want to look good, nip and tuck a little bit here and there in an effort to hide evidence of the aging process. Statistics show that most cosmetic surgery patients are women, but there seems to be an influx of men who are unafraid of going under the knife in order to look good. Hence, cosmetic surgery is now common in both women and men. And in this modern era, cosmetic surgery patients want to get optimal results from cosmetic surgery without having to fork out the insane amount that cosmetic surgery used to cost some decades back. Therefore, more and more ways continue to be developed to satisfy the needs of consumers.

Once upon a time, facelifts and liposuction were the only options open to cosmetic surgery patients. Other untested and unproven cosmetic surgery methods were called ‘high-risk’ or ‘alternative’ cosmetic surgery methods. When the cosmetic surgery procedure comes with a term like ‘high-risk’, consumers tend to be more hesitant.

While previous methods of cosmetic surgery aims to CHANGE the way a person looks, modern cosmetic surgery methods aim to help the patient look better, healthier, younger without having too much of their facial features or body parts altered. Indeed, patients show that they want the cosmetic surgery to be done as quickly as possible, as noninvasive as possible and require as short a recovery time as possible.

Instead of pulling, nicking and tucking skin away, the latest that the cosmetic surgery world has to offer is the noninvasive form of cosmetic surgery; the facial fillers. Instead of pulling skin tighter in an effort to reduce wrinkles, the facial filler cosmetic surgery method is a form of hyaluronic acid injected to fill out parts of the face to reduce signs of aging. Facial fillers also help erase unsightly acne scares, chicken pox scars or simply provide the face with more meat. It has been shown that this type of non-invasive cosmetic surgery lasts longer than collagen itself. And furthermore, undergoing this cosmetic surgery procedure, there is no risk of developing an allergic reaction associated with other types of facial fillers available in the market today!

Botox is also an extremely popular cosmetic surgery method. Botox helps relax the miscles, fades wrinkles slowly and fill in deep laugh and frown lines. Botox is also a non-invasive method that helps etch away the signs of aging slowly and inexpensively.

A lot of people think that you can increase your hair’s vitality by what you eat – and they are correct. However, a lot of people are wrong to assume that you need to consume a lot of protein, and specifically animal protein, to have healthy hair. For example, some people recommend those with fine hair consume a lot of eggs. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Here’s a personal example. My mother and I both have fine, thin, straight hair. She has eaten meat all her life, while I am a strict vegetarian (vegan). No matter that our diets differ, we both have similar quality hair. Of course part of this is genetic. But also, this is because we both get a well-balanced diet (mine just doesn’t contain any animal products).

To increase the vitality of your hair through diet, you need to include the following on a regular basis:

    Clean water
A wide array of fruits and vegetables, preferably raw or cooked low-heat
A good selection of protein from several sources including: soy protein/flour, plant protein (like whole grains and rice) and brewers yeast.

I also recommend a high-quality multivitamin. In particular look for multivitamins with biotin and folic acid. These are the amino acids required for hair growth.

Gelatin Caps

Knox Gelatin sells packets and capsules of ground-up gelatin and markets it as a supplement to strengthen hair, skin, and nails. Before I became vegetarian my mother and I tried consuming these packets and capsules – along with eating tons of Jello — for a period of four months. Neither of us saw a bit of difference in our hair, skin, or nails. Perhaps it takes longer to work but I doubt it. Besides, the thought of eating ground up animal bones (that’s what gelatin is) just isn’t appealing.

Are You Vegetarian/Vegan?

You might have encountered good-natured people who tell you that eating meat will increase the diameter or quantity of your hair. And I’m sure you know this just isn’t true. I can believe you get all the nutrients you need through a well-balanced diet. However, if you are thinking of adding anything to your routine in an effort to help your hair, skin, or nails, I’d recommend the following supplements:

    Vegan Multivitamin
Flaxseed (oil form or ground up) – add to a variety of dishes, this provides omega 3 fatty acids typically found in seafood.
Nutritional Yeast – add to dishes, tastes kind of like mild powdered cheese. Make sure you buy the nutritional kind, not the kind for baking bread or from the brewing process.

People who are not vegetarian/vegan will benefit from adding any of the above-mentioned into their diets, too.

Yes, diet does play a role in the health and vitality of your hair. However, eating too much animal protein won’t thicken fine hair – but probably will thicken your arteries! So, be healthy and get your protein from plant sources. Don’t be fooled by well-meaning, but uninformed people when it comes to having great health and fabulous hair!

Botox has become one of the most popular treatments for reducing wrinkles, frown lines, and crow’s feet. In addition Botox has been found to be effective in treating migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms in the neck.

Botox has soared in popularity in recent years and last year botox injections were given to over 2 million Americans. Botox is the short name for something called botulinum toxin. Botulinum Toxin Type A is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

When used in medical settings as an injectable form of sterile, purified botulinum toxin (Botox), small doses of the toxin are injected into the affected muscles and block the release of the chemical acetylcholine that would otherwise signal the muscle to contract. The toxin thus paralyzes or weakens the injected muscle.

Doctors use a very small dose of this toxin to help smooth wrinkles, creases in the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes, and frown lines. Botox was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1989 for the treatement of double vision and uncontolled eyelid spasms. Botox has been been called today’s "fountain of youth" since it was approved by the FDA in 2002 for the reduction of frown lines.

The injections typically last for 3 to 4 months and then have to be repeated. The most common adverse events following injection of Botox are headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, blepharoptosis (droopy eyelids) and nausea. Less frequent adverse reactions (less than 3% of patients) include pain in the face, redness at the injection site and muscle weakness. These reactions are generally temporary, but could last several months.

Because Botox is a prescription drug, it must be used carefully under medical supervision. Botox "parties" may diminish the seriousness of the procedure and if alcohol is served at these parties it may worsen any bruising at the injection site. The FDA has issued warning statements about botox "parties" and recommends that botox injections be performed in a controlled medical environment that is equipped to handle an emergency situation.

Many people have searched the world over looking for the fountain of youth. We all long for eternal beauty, free of wrinkles or the sagging of age. To answer this yearning, the market has been bombarded with creams and serums boasting the secrets of anti aging. Anti aging has become a market in itself and we have answered the call, purchasing our fill or at least the fill of our pocketbooks! However, perhaps the answer does not lie in a miracle lotion or cream, but in the life we live before we reach our advanced years.

Do not misunderstand, I am not suggesting we will forever be free from wrinkles if we live properly – at some point our skin will sag and we will show our age. Instead, I am suggesting our society is always looking for the quick fixes. To lose weight, we look for a miracle pill instead of eating right and exercising. On the same note, instead of eating properly and caring for ourselves, we look for the easy way out – something to rub on our faces to remove the evidence of the life we have chosen to live, or even worse, surgery to cut away and stretch out the skin we have chosen to disregard for so long. On the other hand, why don’t we accept the creases that line our faces as trophies we have earned with the years we have endured on this Earth? Why is the exploration in search of anti aging so much more popular than the search for self-acceptance?

At the end of the day, when our eyes close for the final time, will it matter how many wrinkles line our faces, how tight our stomach muscles are, or the amount of gray in our hair? Will the pursuit of anti aging be a factor when age ceases to exist? Of course not. Perhaps we should spend our lives pursuing something that may actually proceeds us in death, instead of that which fades with lost memories.
