Soap has been the whipping boy of major facial and skin product manufacturers for years. They tell you that soap dries the skin. They have all kinds of nifty demonstrations that prove it. The thing is, they are not telling the whole truth. Surprise!

A major manufacturer of skin cleansing products makes a product that they proudly proclaim is not soap. The have spent millions of dollars over the years branding their cleanser as “not soap plus.” For years, this cleanser was touted as having superior moisturizing qualities because it is ¼-moisturizing cream. Their current campaign shows a rose being dipped in their product and “soap.”

Afterwards, the rose dipped in their product is robust and coated in a smooth glistening layer of their product. The rose dipped in “soap” appears to have been involved in a traffic accident. The evidence is clear; at least, the inference is.

Let’s take a two-pronged approach to get to the truth here. It’s not really fair but I am going to use the aforementioned example to represent its genre. And, I am feeling a bit wily, so, I am going to do a product reveal. It’s Dove! The second phase will be a look at the cleanser manufacturers straw man, “soap.”

Do you know what moisturizing cream is? Neither do I. Let’s take a peek at the ingredients in Dove Cleansing Bar:

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Tallowate, Aqua, Sodium Isethionate, Coconut Acid, Sodium Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parfum, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Chloride, Trisodium EDTA, Zinc Stearate, Tetrasodium Etidronate.

Does anything on that list look creamy to you? It might help if we knew what those things are. Here we go.

· Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate – Surfactant – It makes things slippery with dense lather

· Stearic Acid - Emulsifier – It makes compounds stick together and makes soap harder. – This is how they make it: Stearic acid is prepared by treating animal fat with water at a high pressure and temperature. It can also be made from the hydrogenated vegetable oils.

· Sodium Tallowate – This is animal fat that has been processed with water and lye – it’s the soap part of the stuff that isn’t soap.

· Aqua – That’s their fancy way of saying water.

· Sodium Isethionate – Detergent – This makes more lather that is really thick.

· Coconut Acid – Fatty acid – They use this to control texture.

· Sodium Stearate – Fat steamed away from beef fat and processed with lye – In other words, more soap in the stuff that isn’t soap.

· Cocamidopropyl Betaine – High Foaming Surfactant- Slippery detergent.

· Parfum – This is a real feat of chicanery. The word itself is French and is most commonly associated with the phrase “eau de parfum.” Eau de parfum is the purest and most expensive form of scent. But, that is not what it is in this context. It means fragrance and it could be anything you can bet the farm; it’s not expensive.

· Sodium Palm Kernelate – Palm kernel acids, oil and salt.

· Sodium Chloride – Salt.

· Trisodium EDTA – Acidic salt

· Zinc Stearate – Stabilizer

· Tetrasodium Etidronate – Water softerner

That’s what is in Dove. Looks yummy doesn’t it? I have that feeling of luxury just thinking of it. Did you notice how much soap is in the bar whose advertising first told you that soap dries your skin?

Now about that soap drying your skin business. Well, yes and no. What cleansers are referring to when they that soap dries the skin is the soap that many mainstream manufacturers make soap is by skimming off the glycerin that is a natural by-product of the chemical reaction between lye and oil. This chemical reaction is the basis for all soap. The act of removing the glycerin, which they use for other high end products, causes the soap to be drying to the skin.

Soap doesn’t have to be drying. They make it that way.

Dawn Worthy, owner of Fresh From the Farm, offers a complete line of biodegradable, vegan friendly, organic botanical soap. What is in the soap is good. What isn’t in the soap is better. Those not-so-cute nicknames for our wrinkles….laugh lines, worry lines, character lines, frown lines and one of the most unflattering descriptions, crows feet. Ugh! They’re just another one of life’s cruel jokes, sneaking up on you over time, but seemingly appearing overnight. Over time, some lines form due to habitual facial expressions or movements, such as frowning or squinting, and other lines are caused by outside factors like air pollution and sun exposure.

Preventing and eliminating lines and wrinkles in our aging skin has become somewhat of a preoccupation among many people today, largely due to the premium our society places on a youthful look. Aging with dignity for some, cannot be accomplished without the help of a myriad of cosmetic products or even plastic surgery! It’s never too late to learn which elements can expedite wrinkles, and what you can do to slow down the inevitable aging process.

Cigarette smoking, besides being bad for your health, has been known to contribute to wrinkles and aging skin disorders. Smoking for a number of years can lead to those deep lines radiating from your lips.

Air pollution and the effects on our ozone layer have been known to deplete important antioxidant (vitamin E for example) in our skin.

Sun exposure (both UVA and UVB rays) causes damage to your skin, which leads to wrinkles, along with other skin disorders and cancer. Even small amounts of ultraviolet radiation can start the chemical processes in your skin that leads to wrinkles.

What can you do? Well, it is really a matter of just using your common sense. Stop smoking – yes, easier said than done. Use sunscreen regularly (SPF 15 to 30) and make sure that it contains both UVA and UVB protection. Eat well, get plenty of rest, take antioxidant supplements and be sure to drink plenty of water. Eliminate caffeinated beverages, or at least reduce the amount you drink, and replace it with water. Drinking water is probably the single most important aid in wrinkle prevention…think of it as moisturizing from the inside!

The Internet impacts all branches and now it’s time for such a conservative one as wigmaking. Thanks to the global network one can choose from the infinite variety of wig models available in the Internet and have it hand made personally for him or her by the masters of this craft in Eastern Europe at the price of good readymade product.

One of Eastern Europe vendors only needs a photo of a wig model of one’s choice. One can find a photo in Australia, have it made in Poland and sent to US or the UK. That is how Internet works.

Manager of the site Frank Migas says "Like many vendors we operate in many countries where clients have greatly varying tastes and preferences. No wigmaker is able to create a collection to covers all of such a variety of tastes. But now there is a solution. Thanks to flexibility and personal wig-making, we can offer our new unique personal service that gives our clients any wig model they wish. Simply a client finds a wig model they like and sends us a photo of it, and we will make it of real human hair from Eastern Europe. This way we offer all the wig models available in the world. I know it sounds bizarre, but that is the truth in the age of Internet."

Frank continues: "We believe it is a new quality in the Internet – combination of the highest quality possible, wide range of choice for customers, low prices and total flexibility. All that Internet has for a long time promised to us."

Aging is a natural process. But millions of people worldwide are concerned about growing older and search for anti-aging solutions. It is surely not healthy to be completely obsessed with aging. Today there are hundreds of products and treatments that can make you look and feel younger while slowing the aging process. Some of the most popular anti-aging products are skin supplements and the ones related to eye. Anti-aging creams or anti-wrinkle creams like Anti aging eye cream are a rage and can provide one with soothing treatment that improves the skin texture. Many of the anti-aging cosmetics allow one to see improvement while retaining the natural beauty. The most vulnerable area for aging is the area around the eyes that is why anti aging eye cream are one of the best selling skin care products.

Things to consider before buying an anti aging eye perfecting cream:

· Because the area around the eyes is so thin, it’s not only more vulnerable to damage, it’s the first place one can begin to notice changes.

· Most eye creams go through rigorous safety testing because of the potential for the product to enter the eye.

· Facial moisturizers do not work in place of eye creams, because most contain active ingredients that are far too potent for the fragile eye area.

· No eye product or any anti aging eye care products should cause burning or stinging in the eye. If you experience these types of symptoms, discontinue use immediately.

· Eye creams come in two basic "kinds": anti-wrinkle, and those that fight bags, puffiness and dark circles.

· According to many experts, an eye cream should be the first step in any anti-aging protocol.

· Eye creams tend to be more moisturizing (emollient), which makes them better for the area around the eye (due to the lack of natural oil glands and moisture on the skin nearest to the eye), and less so for the facial skin.

· Consumers think the more eye cream they apply, the better the product works. This is not true. Use the directed amount because the active ingredients are taken into account when the directions are given.

· Eye-tightening creams should be the last product you apply to your face (over foundation), because other creams, lotions and foundations can break down the active ingredients.

· Creams, serums and gels all have pros and cons: Gels (without alcohol, which dry out the skin) are better for acne-prone skin. Emollient creams (suitable for normal to dry skin) work well under makeup.

We proudly offer all natural and user-friendly beauty care products for your Anti Aging Eye Perfecting Cream and other skin care needs. Our complete line of skin care products is made using only natural skin care ingredients, to ensure quality in all of our skin care products.

At first sight the answer seems very obvious – they are cheaper. And of course that is true. But in fact Eastern European hair is not that much more expensive – the amount necessary to make a good wig is about 30-50 USD in Poland or Czech Republic. That is not a fortune if you are going to spend a few hundred dollars on a wig. So what is the catch?

The problem is on the supply side. There are over 2 billion people in Asia and only 200 million in Eastern Europe. Most of people in Eastern Europe have no need to sell their hair for economic reasons. Moreover, I don’t have to emphasize how rare it is in rich Western European countries to sell one’s hair. That is what makes European hair rare and explains why local wig-makers purchase only the amount necessary for their own production. Outside of Eastern Europe, due to its rarity, the price of the best European hair (so called “raw virgin hair”) is skyrocketing.

Hence 99% of human hair wigs are made of Asian hair. This hair is marked by such trade names as “human hair” or “remy hair”. If the producer or a sales person does not state directly that the hair is exclusively European, you can be 100% sure that you are dealing with Asian hair.

Asian hair is by nature very dark (black), very straight and thicker than European hair. Subject to a complicated process of a pigmentation removal, the hair looses its natural shine and resilience. Before it finally gets to you it will be dyed several times using synthetic chemical products, which no one would use to dye their own hair. Such a hair has a tendency to show a ting of a dark or red color. This is why it has to be dyed several times and go through a bleaching process. That way any color can be obtained, but hair structure gets damaged during the process. It is not pleasant to the touch anymore and even after as little as twenty weeks it will loose its shine and become dull.

Another issue concerns the manner in which the hair is obtained. It is not planned from the start with the thought of creating wigs. Hair is cut in random hair salons. Part of the hair also comes from ritual ceremonies of cutting of the hair as a sign of entering into adulthood. Such hair in the fervor of the ceremony falls to the floor and is gathered from there and placed in a great pile. In the process the hair is turned against and opposite to each of its strands and not layered in the same direction. Although it may not seem so at first, this does change the fundamental significance in the quality of your wig.

Every strand of hair has a coarse cuticle, which clings to the cuticle of the neighboring hair if they are layered in the opposite direction. In effect hair is twisting and intertwining into a hair clump so difficult to comb out. The only method for solving this problem is to completely remove the natural cuticle, which is then replaced with a silicon one that gives the hair its shine. It is a brutal and destructive process – such a wig will maintain its sheen no longer than for a period of 4 to 12 weeks. After that time hair becomes dull and unattractive.

The best Asian hair comes from India and Pakistan. In reality, it is not much better than hair described above. The advantage is that this hair is less stiff and may have a natural tendency to from slight waves. For that reason, many producers claim that it has the same qualities as European hair, which is not true.

If only there were more Eastern Europeans, life of wig-makers and their clients would be simpler, heh?

Botox works great for instant line, furrow, wrinkle and frown reduction. The problem is it only lasts a few months, costs $300 - $600 or more, and right after the swelling heals is the best it will ever look and it slowly degrades from there. There are two other skin treatments that are also considered wonder treatments - TCA skin peels and Strivectin-SD. These can be used alone, but for a huge 15-20+ year difference in your skins youthfulness, they should be used in conjunction with one another.

TCA skin peels are, without a doubt, the most prescribed and used chemical skin peel. They are easier to use (less applications), have longer lasting effects and work on more skin problems than any other peel. TCA peels are currently used by doctors, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons throughout the country. They have been proven effective in the treatment and cure of wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne (all types), freckles, sun damage, etc… Basically, out of the three wonder products (Botox, Strivectin-SD, and TCA Peels), only TCA skin peels will remove treat damaged or problematic skin areas) and it lasts the longest for a single treatment (about 6 months to 1 year). It is also the most cost effective of the three as it is now available direct to consumers. For this reason TCA skin peels should be made a part of every skin care regimen (men and women). They are now available for in home use at a great savings - under $30 - see the link below for more information on this.

Strivectin-SD was originally formulated for stretch mark treatment and reduction. By a strange turn of events, customers started applying it to their wrinkles and faces and found it would plump their skin and lightly fade facial scars (ie acne scarring, etc…). It became one of the most sought after products on the market and its price soared to over $100 for a small tube. Compared to Botox, it doesn’t give immediate results, but according to the manufacturer, one tube of Strivectin-SD will last up to 6 months when used for wrinkles. It is also cumulative - so it slowly gets better and better. Strivectin-SD will give a more youthful appearance over time and works even better when used in conjunction with a TCA skin peel.

So there you have it, three items (Botox, TCA skin peels, and Strivectin-SD), all proven to have marked effects on facial skin. Used alone any one of them will produce visible results. Used in conjunction, one can literally make their skin look 10 - 15 years (or more) younger. All three have been used by doctors and will continue as such. The most cost effective of the three is the TCA skin peels. Regardless of which you go with, or if you go with all three, these products have been proven to create a more youthful appearance and glow.

Day spa gift certificates are among the most popular gifts for every occasion. Providing relaxation, pampering and stress-relief is one of the best gifts anyone could receive. However, it can be difficult to know how to choose the best spa and the best treatment for a loved one. The following are some questions to ask to ensure that your spa gift certificate is a success:

Does the spa offer weekend and evening hours?

Having a variety of hours available to enjoy a treatment is important.

Does the therapist ever leave the room during a treatment?

Believe it or not, there are some spas that leave a client alone during a portion of a facial and will actually perform a second treatment while the client waits alone. This is unacceptable. A therapist should be in the room at all times providing pamepering and results.

Do the therapists have quotas?

A relaxing spa visit can soon turn stressful when a therapist begins aggressively pushing products. Professional skin care products are wonderful and can make a tremendous difference in the skin, but when products are being pushed by someone who has a quota to meet, often, the client’s best interest might not be the reason for a recommendation.

Does the spa have a website?

A website can be a wonderful way to learn about a spa. Upscale spas will have a virtual tour which will allow you to experience the environment of the spa. The spas philosophy and background will also help you decide if a spa is ideal for you. Gift certificate packages are typically described on a website. This will help you decide on the perfect package for you or a loved one.

Is there a physician affiliation?

Although, a traditional day spa does not require a physician to supervise treatments, it can be an indication of a high level of care. Medical spas are the fastest growing type of spa. Medical grade treatments like laser hair removal, laser skin tightening, and medical grade peels do require physician supervision.

When thinking of a day spa package, consider a treatment that will provide relaxation and results for the one you love.

To search for a spa in your area, you may go to websites such as www.spaindex.com or type in key words "best day spa" followed by your city. To find a day spa that offers the results of a medical spa, type in medical spa and the name of your city.

Kile Law owns Blue water Spa in Raleigh, NC. Blue water Spa was recently voted one of the top 4 medical spas in America by American Spa Magazine. Blue Water Spa has also been voted best day spa in Raleigh

The whole youth culture is bathed in positive words surrounding boldness, adventure, beauty, sharpness, clarity and speed. The negative associations of raucous, rude, lazy, untidy, broke, thoughtless may be a more true description of the life but are more often just assigned to one individual. The positive attributes would be used more correctly when attached to the individual.

The second half of life is more often bathed in words associated with frailty, poor sight, bad health, forgetfulness, sadness, disease to name just a few. These words have been wrongly pasted on the entire group of over 60’s. The more positive attributes of wisdom, wealth, focus, talent, knowledge, experience, thoughtfulness somehow seem to have been lost or offered second place for the less complimentary.

A person who is well known, clever and made a contribution to an important area but just happens to be over 60 has to fight off the traditionally recognized verbal and written words from the more typical descriptions.

An Australian artist was furious when the newspaper review of a major exhibition of her life’s work introduced her as an elderly, frail female desperately trying to make a few dollars. The catalogue description from the husband described her as an attractive, focussed highly talented Australian artist keen to share her gift with the world through display of a collection of some 500 pieces of original work. Needless to say the catalogue sold the pictures!

Women who wear makeup and want to apply a treatment method for wrinkles are limited in the products available. Many products on the market are oil-based. Using these products with foundation can be messy at best. Most products formulated to treat wrinkles are oil based. It can be difficult to apply foundation over products that are oil based. In addition, the oil can eventually seep through the foundation, giving the skin an uneven appearance. Instead of having to go without foundation, women who use foundation should use an alternative treatment.

The good news about DermaPro is that not only allows women who wear foundation to treat their skin for wrinkles, but it actually facilitates better foundation application. It actually prepares the application process to be smoother. DermaPro is an alternative wrinkle treatment for women who use foundation, but it is also a Botox alternative in general. DermaPro works similar to Botox in that it is formulated to relax the muscles so that wrinkles and fine lines become smoother and less visible to the eye. When you apply DermaPro prior to using foundation, your skin will also appear smooth. So, you can treat you skin while looking beautiful. DermaPro goes a step further and actually improves the way your foundation looks.

It takes a powerful product to treat wrinkles. Most products of this type have a particular ingredient that does all the work. In relation to DermaPro, the active ingredient is Thalassine. There are many chemicals available that can smooth skin afflicted with signs of aging. Although the Thalassine in DermaPro works similar to Botox, it is not a toxin. Dermapro is so light that you can apply it along with a moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation. A 1-ounce bottle of DermaPro costs nearly 100 dollars, which may be considered expensive. However, you won’t use but a minimal amount of the product.

Detailed information about botox alternatives, including tips on wrinkle reduction, are available at Botox alternative.

Anti-aging has taken on a new level of importance with the years increasing for every mortal. There has been a human assumption that this has occurred as a result of man-based unusual and wonderful scientific discoveries. Unique body needs, special discoveries of vitamins and tonics worked in with new and highly respected medical skills have been undertaken addressing specific and complicated operational needs.

Certainly most of the discoveries have provided blessings and quality when applied during time of need.

Man is certainly living longer but because of the outworking of the Father’s Plan not because of a false perceived brilliance. It has often been overlooked that He is the one at the foundation of most of these discoveries, revelations and content of the vitamin C.

The health and medical industry has been a vehicle through which He can teach us how to eliminate a disease, extend a life or remove sagging eye skin.

The basic but most powerful tools for enjoying the longer ordained life span comes from a diet as close as possible to its natural state, an exercise program that would have been equivalent to the growing, finding, catching and preparation of the desired calories.

Any neighborhood or family challenge must be dealt with before the setting of the sun whilst days are spent doing that which He gave us to love.
