Dry skin means lack of water, not lack of oil. A study from Denmark shows that daily use of some skin creams can make the skin even more sensitive to irritants such as soaps and alcohol.

The researchers asked people to apply either a high or low-fat moisturizing cream on the upper arm, 3 times a day, for 5 days, while the other upper arm served as a control. The day after moisturizer treatment was stopped, the researchers applied an irritant called sodium lauryl sulphate to the creamed arm. The high-fat creamed arm had far more redness and irritation, while the low-fat creamed arm had no irritation. This shows that some high-fat moisturizing creams can strip away the protective outer layer of skin called the epidermis and cause skin rashes. If your moisturizing cream appears to irritate your skin, you may benefit by substituting a low-fat cream that does not leave a greasy layer when you rub it on.

In the late 1940’s, a doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital took a hard callus off the foot of one of his patients and placed in oil. It remained as hard as ever. Then he placed the callus in water and it became very soft, but soon after being removed from the water, it became very hard again. Then he left the callus in water until it became soft, removed it and then soaked it in oil and it remained soft for a long time. He had shown that dry skin should be treated by using oils and creams to seal in moisture. Cosmetic manufacturers soon produced oil-in-water emulsions which were incorporated into creams designed to seal in water.

However, some studies show that oil-in-water emulsions soak off the outer layer of skin and increase its susceptibility to irritation from cold, rubbing, and externally applied chemicals. The longer skin is immersed in water, the more protective outer coatings of skin is stripped off. Take quick showers and decide for yourself whether using a cream or lotion helps you or not. All lotions and creams work the same way, no matter how much they cost or what special ingredients they claim to contain. Just pick one that feels and smells pleasant to you.

A recent study conducted at the Berlin Charite hospital concluded that people having a high concentration of antioxidants in their skin have fewer wrinkles and look younger.

Antioxidants are compounds that act as killers of free radicals mopping up these unstable oxygen molecules that, in excess, can destroy the basic cells’ structure and their genetic material (DNA) as well. Among the main antioxidants for the skin we can mention vitamins C and E, and coenzyme Q10.

Our body cannot produce all requested antioxidants on its own. It must to make up the rest of amount using ingredients such as beta-carotene as well as Vitamins A, C, D and E. The study confirmed that non-vegetarians had less antioxidants in their bodies than vegetarians. To help our body to complete its important task we must supply with fruits and vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, paprika, cabbage, oranges, lemons and so on.

Despite of fact it is not yet perfectly clear whether antioxidants can effectively protect against heart disease, cancer, premature aging, and other conditions, the study suggests that antioxidants decrease skin roughness, length of facial lines, and wrinkle depth. So, people with a normal diet can have their skin look younger by just adding lots of fruits and vegetables in their meals.

Green eyes are really fun to work with. They have such a wide color range from turqouise to chartreuse to forest green to bright light green and on and on.

These tips are designed for the magority of green eyes, but of course there are exceptions to every rule. My best advice is to try every color that you’re interested in. You’ll be surprised what looks good.

Choosing An Eyeshadow

These colors are some of the most popular for green eyes.

Try different browns, especially chocolate tones. Browns and dark greens with copper or gold highlights are also a great choice.

Apricots and taupes are good choices for highlighters.

Dark purples, plums and metallics work too. Coppers and golds will make a really glamorous evening look for makeup tips for green eyes. I personally really like the way deep purples look with dark green eyes.

Colors To Avoid

When you’re learning makeup tips for green eyes, it also helps to know what colors you might want to avoid.

First up, blues. Any color of blue doesn’t do green eyes justice. I would recommend avoiding light blues, dark blues and even some colors (purples or pinks) with blue undertones.

Pinks are also a hard color to judge. Some can look really, really good and others can look really, really bad. This is usually a matter of trial and error.

Silvers are not a good choice either. Leave them for the blue eyes.

Eyeliner Colors

Unless you really like black eyeliner, it’s usually a color to avoid. Try steely grays or chocolate browns. Use gold or white to open up the eye if your eyes are small.

The Rule Of Thumb

A good rule of thumb when choosing a color for makeup tips for green eyes is to focus on warm colors and avoid cool colors.

Like I said, there are exceptions to every rule, but this should provide a nearly fail-safe method for choosing eyeshadow colors to bring out the beauty of your green eyes.

The Application

How you apply your eyeshadow depends how many colors you’re wearing and what the occasion is.

For basic every day wear, here’s what you do.

1. Apply a highlighter like crystalline to the entire eye from the bottom of the crease to the eyebrow.

2. Use a taupe or apricot next and apply it to the whole eyelid and blend it just above the crease with the crystalline.

3. Then use your third color (chocolate brown, dark green, copper, etc.) and apply it one of two ways:

a. Apply it from the middle of your eyelid from the eyelash to just above the crease. Blend it well. You can even blend it under the lower lashes for a more dramatic look.

b. Apply it from the inner corner of your eyelid and sweep it out to the outer corner of your eye. It will get thicker the further out you go. Blend well.

4. Apply eyeliner and mascara as you normally would.

And there you go! Great makeup tips for green eyes.

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine” A powerful anti-aging directive comes from the way each day is begun. This verse doesn’t criticize the use of prescribed medication but the medical connotation suggests that the major benefit of the joyful heart provides an array of side effects carrying the power of strong medicine.

It’s very easy for a negative experience to begin its powerful path on immediate entry. Signs heralding danger flash if the issue grows overnight to dominate morning thoughts.

Bedtime is not always the time we’re aware of a thought possibly planting the basis of a major mental challenge over the next few years. A pain killer may be taken but this will be just the beginning of numerous packets if the issue is not suitably dealt with on immediate recognition.

A joyful heart can only be achieved when negative thoughts have been dealt with and totally removed. Instruction on their elimination is simple but clear and precise.

A daily early morning clean out and refiring will not only change the day but provide a level of joy that keeps away unidentified beginnings from more serious challenges.

The heart is an amazing piece of machinery and equally sensitive to both right and wrong input. Unfortunately wrong content can last longer and have a more powerful experience by growing with daily feeding.

Have you ever examined the ingredients listed on the labels of your cosmetics or other skin care products? Do you know what those ingredients are?

What you may not realize is that many of the skin care products and cosmetics you are buying contain ingredients that are not only harmful to your skin, but also to your long term health. Many of these ingredients are known carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) and are used by the cosmetic industry simply because they are cheap!

Harmful Ingredients Commonly Found in Skin Care Products and Cosmetics - The following are just some of the synthetic chemicals that have been identified by scientific studies to be harmful to our health.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS) - Often described as being "derived from coconut" to disguise their toxic nature, these chemicals are commonly used in shampoos, toothpaste, foaming facial and body cleansers and bubble bath. SLS and ALS can cause severe skin irritation, and are easily absorbed into the body, building up in the brain, heart, lungs and liver, leading to potential long term health problems. SLS and ALS may also cause cataracts, and prevent children’s eyes from developing properly.

Paraben Preservatives - Parabens are widely used in cosmetics, deodorants, skin care and baby products to prolong their shelf life. They are known to be highly toxic and have caused rashes and allergic reactions. Recent scientific studies in the UK found a strong link between the use of parabens and the increasing rate of breast cancer in women. Researchers found a high concentration of parabens in 90% of breast tumors tested.

Propylene Glycol - Found in many beauty creams, cosmetics and cleansers, Propylene Glycol can cause skin rashes and contact dermatitis, and has been shown to cause damage to the kidneys and liver.

Isopropyl Alcohol - Alcohol is used as a solvent in many skin care products. It causes skin irritation and strips the skin of its natural acid mantle, promoting the growth of bacteria, moulds and viruses. It may also cause premature ageing of skin.

DEA (Diethanolamine), TEA (Triethanolamine) and MEA (Monoethanolamine) - These substances are harsh solvents and detergents that are used in cosmetics and face and body creams as an emollient. They can cause allergic reactions, and long term use of DEA-based products (such as Cocamide DEA) have been linked to an increase in the incidence of liver and kidney cancer.

Aluminum - A common ingredient in antiperspirants, aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mineral Oil - Derived from petroleum (crude oil), mineral oil is commonly found as a main ingredient of face and body creams and cosmetics. Baby oil is 100% mineral oil! It coats the skin like a plastic film, clogging pores and stopping the skin from eliminating toxins, which can lead to acne and other skin disorders. Other petroleum based ingredients include paraffin wax, paraffin oil and petrolatum.

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) - Used as a thickener in skin care products and cosmetics, PEGs interfere with the skin’s natural moisture balance, causing an increase in ageing and leaving the skin vulnerable to bacteria.

Talc - Talc is a soft mineral used in talcum powders and cosmetic powders. Scientific studies have shown that routine application of talcum powder to the genital area is linked with a three-to-fourfold increase in the development of ovarian cancer. Inhaling cosmetic powders containing talc may also be harmful to long term health.

How To Avoid These Toxins - Examine the labels of your cosmetics and skin care products carefully, and learn to recognize ingredients that are harmful to your skin and to your health. Many web sites have lists of potentially harmful ingredients in addition to those shown above (e.g. Environmental Working Group).

Don’t be fooled by the words ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ on the front of the label. Many products contain at least one or two natural or organic ingredients, but they may also contain harmful synthetic chemicals as well.

Whenever possible, choose products with 100% natural ingredients such as essential oils and herbs. Your skin will love you for it!

Philippians 4.19 declares “My God shall supply all my need..” Anti-Aging remedies, advice and instruction have always focussed the ‘all’ on the consumption of a healthy diet based on God’s guaranteed provision. Some have even included the vast amount of face and body creams, exercise machines and possibly even the discovery of the right surgeon who will perform a miraculous operation at the right price.

Certainly these all have a role but the verse does plainly says “all my need” which means what it says beyond expectation.

The chin is one of the most noticeable and important features on a person’s face. Many times the nose and jaw line can be enhanced by changing the size of a person’s chin. Sculpting the chin can provide a more desired and attractive form, and extenuate other features of one’s face.

Chin implants are made in all sorts of sizes and shapes. They are created from solid and semi-solid materials and are made to look very natural. The surgeon will most likely examine your facial structure and discuss a personalized plan for what will fit best with your face. It is always best to have a clear discussion with your doctor as to what your expectations are before you go into surgery.

Generally a small incision is made inside the lower lip, just under the chin. An implant of a desired size is then placed within the chin. Removable sutures are used to close the wound. Occasionally the incision is made within the mouth and will later be closed with stitches. At the end of the procedure the chin is taped up to minimize swelling. The entire procedure takes around 30 to 60 minutes.

After the surgery has been performed there may be some swelling and bruising. Pain and discomfort may last for several days, but your doctor will prescribe you medicine to ease the pain. Some facial movements, such as talking and smiling may be difficult for a few days after the surgery.

The market is presenting new anti-aging products on a daily basis. Some work, most are designed for the fear-filled so the dreaded complaint won’t display visual evidence. A mountain of faith has been built on these through clever and continuous marketing techniques delivered over a long period of time to guarantee an enormous market

Genuine knowledge only comes from first hand experience of most brand names and content. In many cases price can go through the roof but we’ll always find a way of paying for something if we believe it’s the best product to achieve the desired effect.

There are numerous and specific instructions and verses from God’s word that have been discovered by a special group to do a far better job. Often understanding and expectation doesn’t even go as far as conducting some very simple experiments just to open a door of the mind.

This will require a decision probably far harder to make than the purchase of a super expensive face cream. There are powers at work continually trying to rob us, deceive us, blind us of the truly wonderful and genuine simple and powerful anti-aging processes available without a credit card.

Even worse the true Creator of the fresher, more youthful bodies and minds fails to get due recognition. The right choice is important for a number of reasons.

You’ve had a busy week and now it’s time to get what you truly deserve - a spa quality exfoliating treatment. A week’s worth of skin has piled up and started to make your complexion just a little duller than normal, moisturisers don’t seem to do what they used to and you really need to spoil yourself before you resort to a quart of ice-cream.

Banish the gray tint from your skin by exfoliating once a week. Those with oily skin can pull it off twice a week without a hitch. Keep in mind though, that more is not necessarily better - layers of dead skin protect the new skin underneath. Don’t do this everyday. 8 Step Deluxe Treatment

1. So where to start? Before you get wet, use a dry loofah sponge to slough off the really loose skin - don’t scrub, just run it over your skin gently.

2. Get wet (unless you use Coco Luv Chocolate Body Scrub - it’s for use on dry skin).

3. Apply an exfoliant with hands or a cloth, rubbing in a circular motion. Spend some time with this step - the idea here is not just to scrub off the dead skin, but to stimulate circulation as well. (I should note here that the more time you spend scrubbing your behind, the faster you will be able to break up the fatty deposits that cause the appearance of cellulite.)

4. Rough spots deserve a little more attention. Really rough spots, like heels, might need the help of a pumice stone to soften them up.

5. Rinse off thoroughly. Do not use soap.

6. Dry off.

7. Apply an intensive moisturiser head to toe.

8. Wrap up in your favourite bathrobe and snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea.

So, if your now thinking “Great, like I have time for all that!” Try this one on for size: The Quickie

So you gotta clean yourself anyway right? Forget the soap - Do a salt glow! Grab a handful of bath salt and add a couple squirts of bath & body oil to it. Now scrub your wet self like a madwoman. This can be a heavy duty scrub (lots of salt, a little oil) or a gentle scrub (lots of oil, a little salt) - it’s your choice. Now rinse, dry and taadaa - Your done! Now give yourself a quick second to admire your butter-soft skin.

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks within himself so he is ..” An idle thought may be totally unrelated and not even the forerunner of a related idle word but has the inbuilt power to set the agenda for a day or a lifetime. This sounds frightening and not possible but its power is confirmed through the number of warnings and instruction provided throughout God’s Word.

The verses and the teaching are designed to provide us with the full benefit of the promised peace and power rather than be controlled by the ever increasing fear and negativity. These can easily lead to numerous trips to the specialist within a short space of ingestion. A new but unwanted lifestyle becomes established and ‘feelings’ are assigned an inferior status not related to health.

Casting out is not difficult but requires identification followed by a decision for elimination. The home, which is in the mind of the thinker can have a strong lock which must be dealt accordingly

Idle words cast into the atmosphere have far more power than simply making unnecessary noise and wasting time. The ones that are regularly given to on- going repetition are focussed on fear, failure, doubt, unbelief around all things with a negative base.
