The availability of an array of beauty products has led to a confused state of mind among its clients. With the evolution of a number of cosmetic brands it is a difficult task for the customer to decide as to what would be the best bargain. Further the traditional way of purchasing products would involve a trip to the shopping mall, where persistent salesperson would make sure that the consumer purchases a product about which detailed information is hardly available.Another issue which cannot be overlooked is the time management factor. With 24 hours not sufficient for fulfilling all responsibilities, the customer would not be able to devote more than one day to go visit a mall, have a look at all brands ,compare with the rival brands and choose what best suits their budget and skin ofcourse!

However a wise alternative to this procedure is to just log on to the website of their favorite brand and the rest will be a cakewalk. Web users seeking any kind of make up advice or detailed information regarding a particular product would be totally satisfied. Starting from skin types, color selection advice, each and every tip is tailored to suit the personal need of different individuals. Online ordering, product descriptions and beauty advice all at a mouse click away is definitely going to revolutionize the shopping concept. So the next time you need a makeover guide or just want a glamour dose don’t run to your next door shopping mall just log on and get gorgeous.

With so many glass lens technologies out there designed to block out all sorts of light, where do you turn? Don’t worry; terms like photochromic and polarized may have stumped even Einstein! These words don’t have to be as near as confusing as they sound.

In this article I will discuss the major technologies currently being employed on glasses and sunglasses everywhere. By learning exactly what these technologies do, you can decide on whether or not they are worth your money.

Polarized Lenses – In short, polarized glasses stop polarized light. What is polarized light? Polarized light is light that travels in one plane, while non polarized light travels randomly. A good example of polarized light is the glare that comes off of a lake when you look at. Another example is the glare that comes off of a smooth surface, such as a car.

“So how exactly do polarized lenses stop polarized light” you may be asking yourself. Polarized lenses work because of a polarized filter that is applied to them. Polarized filters are generally made from molecules that align themselves horizontally, and will thus filter light that matches their alignment. Since polarized light is usually horizontally aligned, these polarized filters absorb this light. Look at using polarized sunglasses if you are around water a lot.

Check out http://travel.howstuffworks.com/sunglass4.htm for a great example of how to test a pair of polarized shades to see whether or not they really are equipped with polarized lenses.

Photochromic – Typically tinted grey, photochromic lenses really are a marvel of modern technology. Developed in the late 1960s photochromic lenses are designed to darken when exposed to UV light, and then lighten when UV light is absent. Outside in the sun photochromic glasses will darken — But once they are brought back inside without the presence of the sun, they will go back to normal.

Even under artificial light, photochromic lenses will stay light. The molecules that make up a photochromic lens react only to UV rays, and this is the reason behind their change when exposed to the sun.

Mirrored Lenses – How do mirrored lenses get their signature chromed looks? An ultra thin metallic coating is applied to all mirrored lenses, and this is how they achieve their mirror like shine. Most of the time, only about half of the reflective layer needed for 100% light filtering is applied. What this equates to is that about half of the light that hits mirrored lenses will get through. Some mirrored shades even have graduated mirroring –- The top usually being the heaviest, thus blocking more of the sun from above.

Anti-Reflection Coatings – One of the many coatings sometimes applied to sunglasses, the anti-reflective coating stops back glare. Back glare is from light that comes from behind the wearer, reflecting off the inside of the lenses, and causing an annoying glare.

Scratch-Resistant Coatings – Unfortunately, optical quality plastics are generally not as scratch resistant as glass – Especially polycarbonate. What a scratch-resistant coating does is prolong the life of a pair of lenses. Generally a scratch-resistant coating is simply an optically clear hard film, which can take more of a beating than CR-39 or polycarbonate plastics.

UV Coating – Most sunglasses available provide a lot of UV protection, which is exactly what you want. Prolonged UV radiation can cause a whole host of problems which can simply be stopped by wearing sunglasses. Make sure your sunglasses block at least 99% of UVA and UVB rays!

Being able to distinguish the difference between the many lens technologies currently available isn’t just great for coffee table talk –- Knowing the difference can literally save your eyes.

As already mentioned, most available treatments for stretch marks are essentially of the preventive and controlling kind. The treatments that deal with repairing already existing damage are quite radical and, for the greatest part, not of established medical validity.

Pulsed laser dye therapy, currently in vogue as a possible ‘cure, has been used in the treatment of warts, port wine stains and acne. The results vary and are the object of much disagreement in medical circles, but the professional consensus seems to be that this form of treatment is of no or very limited benefit in tackling stretch marks.

A group of chemical compounds called retinoids – specifically, retinaldehyde, tretinoin or isotretinoin - has reportedly yielded favorable results in some cases. Retinoids are basically derived from vitamin A. Under proper medical supervision, their use in the treating of stretch marks can certainly do no harm. However, the research conducted on retinoids has been largely in conjunction with acne, skin aging and blemishes like whiteheads and blackheads.

Chemical peels should not be considered an option. This is a radical form of treatment that involves burning off the topmost layer of skin with chemicals such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid and trichloracetic acid (TCA). We now know that stretch marks stem from damage to deeper levels of the skin, so sloughing off superficial layers is patently useless and potentially very harmful.

The safest bet at the present time is prevention by nutritional adjustment, intensive moisturizing and massage, vitamin A, E and C supplementation and a regular exercise routine. Apart from these, only concealing or camouflaging agents can offer a degree of comfort to those afflicted by stretch marks. Various products are on the market. Finding the most suitable one is a matter of personal research.

Have you ever wondered where those cool big lenses and signature frame originated from? Maybe you are a little curious as to how aviation shades have gotten so big in recent years?

In this article I will discuss how “pilot glasses” began, as well as how they got where they are today. After reading this you may just decide on getting a pair for yourself!

The shades we know today were first created way back in 1936 by none other than Ray Ban. The reason they are known as “aviator sunglasses” is because they were developed specifically for pilots back in 1936. Pilots needed a good pair of anti glare sunglasses, and Ray Ban’s design satisfied this requirement perfectly.

The design that Ray Ban came up with was actually modeled directly from the goggles being worn by the U.S. military at the time. Since the aviator’s debut, they have remained largely unchanged in design and are still standard issue for military pilots the world over.

Maybe even more interesting is how aviation shades have literally taken off with the general public (no pun intended).

Ray Ban started selling aviator sunglasses to the public a year after they were created; in 1937. During the years many different companies have now started making their own pilot shades — Both name brand and no name sunglasses.

Different technologies have also come into fashion… Some of them stay and some of them go. For instance, have you seen those mirrored aviator glasses that were popular in the movie Top Gun? Those are a technology all their own.

Even different lenses are sometimes used, but glass is still the most popular. Perhaps the biggest change has been all the different colors coming out. Blue, purple, and pink are just a few of the colors you can now find being sported on aviation glasses.

Celebrities have also been boosting these shades reputation as of late –- Many of the biggest stars can be seen wearing them.

All of the above combined have contributed to the huge success of aviator sunglasses. We can only expect them to get even more popular in the near future.

It is summer time and your hair tries to play funny tricks with you and by the end of it you can imagine yourself as having a bad hair day. According to the seasons one has to take care of their hair. Summer always plays havoc on your hair so taking care of your hair during these times would make sense.

The base of our hair structure is protein. So having a protein filled diet for your hair would get most of your hair problems solved in no time. If your hair is properly taken care then your hair would be one of the smoothest, silky, shiny and dandruff free hair. Oiling your hair is very essential for the future of your hair.

The hair mask works in different manner in comparison to the conditioner. The concentration level of hair mask is much more than that of the conditioner. With the high concentration of moisturizer your hair is given the extra treatment for those bad hair days. This used once a month would be good enough rather than the daily use of your conditioner.

Worse the hair condition better the hair mask will work on you. It will help in creating the extra shine and look to create that impact. These masks come in different brands as well as you can prepare it home and use it. It will show a great deal of improvement and your hair would be very manageable. There are many ingredients which work in favor of making an excellent mask like honey, egg, almond, yogurt, avocado, olive oil as well as use of fruit which can give your hair that extra suave touch.

Ladies, when was the last time you were treated like a queen? Whether it was in this millenium or the last, spending the day at a Spa guarantees the Star Treatment. Day Spa’s are like hair and nail salons, only better. In addition to hair and nail services, they offer relaxing muscle massages, pedicures, manicures, deep cleansing facials and even body scrubs, all in a comforting, soothing environment. Most offer gift certificates and will combine services into ‘packages’ at a reduced price.

Winter weather wrecks havoc on our skin, especially our hands and feet, leaving them dry and cracked. I don’t know about you, but my lotion just ain’t getting it! Dead skin cells on your body can prevent your oil and lotion from soaking in, leaving you with a bad case of winter itch. Get rid of all that dead, dry (ashy) skin with an invigorating sea-salt body scrub. Your face can get ashy, also, and feel dry and tight. Contrary to popular belief, Black women and men needs facials too! A good facial will deep clean your pores – removing black heads, acne and even hair and shaving bumps- and leave your face smooth and hydrated.

If nothing else, get a massage, especially if you have children. They are great for your body and spirit; they can tone muscles and are ultra relaxing. Massages can be purchased by the hour (full body) or half hour (back only). During a massage, you will be asked to remove all of your clothes. Don’t be shy, but feel free to leave your underwear on. You will be covered by a sheet at all times. So, lay back, enjoy the candlelight and listen to soothing sounds while being massaged with warm oil. Or better yet, learn how to massage each other in a class you can take together.

Most individuals who are concerned with their attractiveness or the idea of losing their youthful appearance often resort to a host of products on the market that act largely "on the surface" of the person’s body.

By "on the surface" I mean that they focus largely on undoing or covering up the "physical" manifestations of aging or defects in one’s appearance.

A great deal of money has changed hands in such a market and this is a sign of the desire that many have to retain their youthful appearance.

These "surface" approaches are, in my view misguided because of the fact that one’s appearance is actually determined by emotional factors! Emotional factors that are acquired and stored chemically at the cellular level as a result of one’s life experience.

Indeed, there is now evidence that such emotional factors can actually affect the structure of our DNA (for instance you may wish to see Dr. Bruce Lipton’s work in the “Biology of Belief” or Dr. Masaru Emoto in the effects of Thought on the Structure of Ice Crystal Patterns).

Such emotional factors, as my work over the last 10 years has shown, not only detract from one’s appearance, they are actually directly responsible for the aging process itself!

In other words if you carry a life history that has associated with it a great deal of negative experience, this "history" becomes chemically stored deep within the cells of your body and subsequently affects it in a very "physical" way.

So what is being said here is that "emotions" have a very definite affect on the "physical" functioning and appearance of the body!

I am seeing this repeatedly with clients employing a new modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) that I have written about extensively here in this ezine.

MRP essentially is an "emotional detoxification" procedure that purges the negative emotional experiences from the mind and body at the cellular level thereby restoring it to its normal functioning and youthful appearance. The process is quick and easy and starts to yield remarkable results that many find almost hard to believe.

Of course it also needs to be said that if an individual’s life experience has been challenging MRP may need to experienced several times to expedite the entire "detox" process.

As many individuals have become conditioned to "fear" addressing any sort of internal emotional work they usually opt for less effective "surface quick fixes" that not only are in themselves often toxic but also require the ongoing expenditure of monies that could be addressed by a more satisfying and empowering permanent solution such as MRP.

There are many reasons for unwanted hair growth that may include hirsutism, hypertrichosis or you just simply have hair growing in places you wished you didn’t. Many women pluck their eyebrows, shave their underarms and legs, and will also trim or remove pubic hair just to accommodate today’s fashions. For the most part they will treat hair removal as part of their cosmetic routine.

Most men shave their facial hair unless they are purposely growing a moustache, goatee or beard. There are also men who shave their body hair for various cosmetic reasons. Athletes such as body builders and swimmers will also use hair removal methods in order to enhance their appearance, or performance. There are also medical reasons for getting rid of unwanted hair as well as the reason of personal preference.

If you are considering removing unwanted hair then the good news is that there are a number of hair removal options that are available today. Essentially there are basically two categories of hair removal procedures: Permanent Hair Removal Techniques, and Temporary Hair Removal Techniques.

Permanent Hair Removal

Permanent hair removal procedures seek to eliminate unwanted hair in such a way that it never returns. At times they may be successful but there are instances where this technique turns out to be semi-permanent and they may have to be repeated again over time. Individuals who seek out permanent hair removal methods will mostly likely receive treatment from a hair removal specialist or a licensed Esthetician. Examples of common permanent hair removal techniques include:

  • Hair Removal Laser Treatments – this procedure is a relatively painless method for hair removal. This treatment has been approved by the FDA and should only be performed by a trained and licensed professional. The hair follicles are destroyed using a small laser beam and results work best on individuals with light colored skin and dark hair. It is not recommended on deeply tanned people. The overall costs to remove facial hair with lasers can run you around $1,000, while removal of hair from pubic areas or legs can costs anywhere from $2,000 - $3,000.

  • Photo Pulsed/Epilation Laser – this method is similar to laser treatment and is also an FDA approved procedure. It uses a pulsed light beam to eliminate the hair follicles. There are no restrictions in regards to tanning, skin or hair color. It is commonly used to remove hair from the bikini areas as well as underarms. General costs can range between $500 and $2,000 and depend largely on the body area being treated.
  • Electrolysis – is another relatively painless process which can result in minor side effects that may include infection and scaring. This method will treat every hair follicle on an individual basis. During this procedure a needle is injected directly into the hair follicle and then it is exposed to an electric charge. This process can take months and is largely dependent upon the size of the area that is undergoing the treatment. If you are considering this type of treatment then costs may run you as high as $1,000 - $3,000, for pubic or leg areas. Temporary Hair Removal
  • Temporary hair removal techniques are more inclined to work for short periods of time and are subject to the body’s normal hair growth cycle. There are a number of home treatment methods available on the market and some of these techniques can also be performed by a certified Esthetician as well.

The temporary hair removal methods include a number of shaving, plucking, and waxing procedures, as well as hair removal creams and other various exotic procedures.

As you can see the options for removing unwanted body hair are large. The bottom line on choosing a method that is right for you can come down to your budget as well as lifestyle. If you are interested in removing unwanted body hair for sports-related competitions, or cosmetic reasons one should consider laser therapy if they can afford it. These methods are the best for eliminating large areas of body hair.

Want that healthy, tanned look without that elusive Spanish holiday? Use cosmetics! For cosmetics is the easiest way to enhance your image. Image is what the cosmetic industry sells through its products. And although it’s up to you to believe it or not, I’m sure you won’t complain. Definitely not when you can get "that look" without being much the poorer for it.

There are cosmetics for almost every need.

There are cosmetics for almost every need. Foundations, lipsticks, hair dyes, hair straighteners, hair sprays, skin conditioners, contact lenses, sunscreens, tanning products, glosses, shadows and what have you….. The list is seemingly endless.

Branded cosmetics abound! Choose between MAC cosmetics or Mary Kay cosmetics if you will. And if you can’t afford it – well, there’s always discount cosmetics which give you famous brands at a fraction of their price! So despair not!

Get rid of that patch of graying hair, mask that niggling pimple, and banish the ugliness of your nose albeit temporarily with some prudently used cosmetics.

Do take care, of course, to check out the contents. Certain cosmetic additives are harmful for the skin.

Don’t use so called "cosmeceuticals" unless their content, medicinal benefits and safety is verified. Having done that, go right ahead and indulge. And, if a lipstick is all that’s between you and that Marilyn Monroe look, go, get it!
