More and more people are choosing to purchase handmade soap. In the beginning, people turned toward these products because they were crafty, unique and smelled good. What they did not realize is that handmade soap is also very good for your skin.

Handmade soap is made with natural ingredients that actually help to replenish the skin and add moisture where other conventional soaps, such as some commercial brands, may have stripped. The harsh ingredients found in many commercial brands can actually dry out the skin, which takes away it’s natural moisture and may lead to damage. Handmade soap, on the other hand, contains natural ingredients that are healthy for the skin and are less likely to cause irritation. In fact, many users have found that handmade soap is especially beneficial to individuals with otherwise sensitive skin.

Because each bar of handmade soap is carefully crafted, the quality of each bar is never compromised. Unlike machine made brands, handmade soap is made with pride and craftsmanship. It takes a creative mind to produce the various combinations, scents and shapes of handmade soap. Easily found at craft fairs, specialty stores and online, handmade soap is more than a cleansing product - it is an art and the people who create each bar are artists in their own right.

During the winter months especially, many people suffer from dry and cracked skin. It’s uncomfortable, embarrassing and can make even the simplest motion of bending a finger a painful occurrence. While not designed to specifically cure chapped skin, handmade soap does help to add moisture and rejuvenate the natural texture of the surface. When skin becomes chapped, it is because the moisture is stripped away during cold weather, elevated heat temperatures inside the home and lack of moisture in the air. Many people buy handmade soap because it helps to prevent dry, itchy skin. One of the main ingredients, which is known as aloe, is derived from the inner part of an aloe leaf and is commonly used to treat burns, rashes and insect bites. Aloe actually helps to heal wounds, which is why it is so beneficial to individuals with dry or irritated skin.

People buy handmade soap for a variety of reasons. Many for its beauty and for a nice bathroom decor. Some purchase it as a focal point, but never actually use it because they don’t want to disturb it’s appearance. Others purchase handmade soap for its many benefits to the skin and for the fact that its natural ingredients lend a hand to those with allergies to commercial brands. Whatever the reason, handmade soap is very popular and often finds its way into the home of anyone who wants to treat their skin to the luxurious treatment that it deserves.

Jeffrey Dorrian is the soap guy. Really, that is his website http://www.thesoapguy.com He has been making premium olive oil soap for the past five years. "Handmade soap is a true inexpensive luxury anyone can enjoy." wholesale soap

If you’ve finally made the decision to undergo breast augmentation surgery, you now are faced with the practical and financial decisions of cosmetic surgery. Safety is of course a primary concern, but the cost of plastic surgery is a great factor as well. Many people have great difficulty balancing these two, trying to find a good doctor who will work within their price range. Medical expenses for breast augmentation surgery include not only the surgical procedure but also the implants, anesthesia, medication and the cost of using the operating room, and can run from $4,000 to $10,000.

Other variances in price will relate to the procedure that a particular surgeon uses (some place the implant under the muscle, some make the incision through the armpit or under the breast or on the nipple), the location of the doctor performing the surgery, and how much augmentation is being done.

While cost can be a deciding factor in whether or not to undergo breast augmentation or breast lift surgery, the choice of doctor should be based upon comfort and safety rather than expense. Furthermore, many make the mistake of believing that plastic surgeons in big cities are better or safer doctors than those in smaller cities. If you have decided that the benefit of breast augmentation surgery outweighs the cost of the procedure, you should find a good cosmetic surgeon in your area through a reliable source.

BEAUTY THROUGHOUT THE AGES

If you think today’s obsession with beauty is something new, think again! Men AND women have been in touch with their bodies and beauty dating back as far as the ancient Egyptians. The Egyptian’s concern was based as much on pleasing the “gods” of their time as it was for personal adornment. In fact, it could be said that they prepared their bodies more for the “afterlife” than the current time. All one need do is read about the tombs and mummies that have been excavated and study what was found. Lavish pictorial examples reveal how extravagantly the aristocracy lived their lives.

Just take a look at the detail the next time you have an opportunity to view Egyptian archaeology reports. Gold and silver bracelets, lapis and jade pendants, rings of gold studded with semi-precious stones. All are evidence of just how deeply involved the human race is with beauty and adornments.
IS BEAUTY REALLY SKIN DEEP?
The answer is yes and no. It’s a paradox, isn’t it? True beauty begins from the inside out. Don’t you wish there were some way to “wriggle your nose” and regain that soft skin you had as a child? Well, until someone comes up with the true “Fountain of Youth,” we are stuck with what we have. The best route to healthy skin is to take care of what you have. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? The truth is that your skin takes a beating from the environment every single day.

Here are some of our favorite tips for keeping your skin fresh and healthy:
1. Stay hydrated, and drink plenty of water! That doesn’t mean soda, caffeine or any other type of liquid even if it is low cal. Soda (even diet soda) has a high concentration of sodium. Sodium retains fluids. You need fluid that will hydrate and flush your body free of toxins. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses a day!
2. Protect your skin from harmful ultra violet (UV) rays. We all love the sun. We love being in it and we love having a beautiful tan. The truth is you can poison yourself with too much sunshine. UV rays cause skin cancer, and if that isn’t bad enough, it causes your skin to age faster than it should, contributing to unsightly wrinkles. If you must play in the sun, make certain you are using an adequate sun screen. Don’t leave home without it!
3. Apply your sun screen even if you only make a quick trip to the grocery store. Yes, you can get harmful UV rays even while driving your car!
4. When you purchase sun screen, make certain you are buying the right tool for the job. There are different types of UV rays and they don’t all affect our skin in the same ways. The time of year also has a bearing on how much damage the sun can do to your skin. Altitude is another important factor. UV rays are more intense at high altitudes. Sunshine alone is not the culprit. You can do just as much damage to your skin (or in some cases even more) on a cloudy day!
5. Don’t forget sun screen for your lips. They want to be healthy too!
6. Apply your sunscreen BEFORE going outdoors and allow plenty of time for it to adequately absorb into your skin cells rather than just sitting on top of the skin.
7. Read the labels on skin care products. The truth is that some ingredients may do more harm than good. The more ingredients are listed, the more potential harm they can do to your skin.
THE EYES HAVE IT!

They don’t call them the “windows to the soul” for nothing! The eyes never lie. If you’re feeling and looking great, your eyes will shine and sparkle. If you’re sad and lonely your eyes will give you away every time.

If you have red, watery eyes due to allergies, deal with them! There are plenty of medications available to eliminate allergy symptoms. Nothing will detract from your appearance faster than red eyes.

If you wear eyeglasses, make certain that they do not detract from your appearance. Eyeglasses should complement your eyes, not cover them. If your frames are unattractive, it means you had the wrong sales person. Try again.

If you can wear them, consider switching to contact lenses. Make sure you remember to remove them when swimming. You can easily lose them in the pool or worse, if you wear soft lenses you could contract a cornea infection that comes from a parasite found in water. The chlorine won’t kill it and the result of this nasty little dude is not pleasant. You are inviting painful corneal infection that could cause partial or total blindness.
Try buying different colored lenses. You might discover a whole new you behind blue eyes!
HAND IT OFF!
Did you know . . . many ancient beauty treatments are still in use today? An example is the East Indian art of painting the hands and feet with Henna. It is known in India as Mendhi and is an ancient Indian art form which has been performed for generations not only in India, but the Middle East, Pakistan and in Africa as well. Women in India traditionally painted henna on their hands and feet, insides of their arms and up their shins most often for a wedding, or other special occasion. The intricate patterns on the hands are particularly beautiful.

Nothing will give away your age quicker than the condition of your hands. Let’s take a look at some tips to try and hold off the ravages of time.
While we don’t particularly recommend the practice of mendhi for everyday USA, it would be helpful in covering up some of those age spots, wouldn’t it? Try this tip. Apply vitamin E oil directly to the spots to fade the discoloration.

There is also a product that’s been around since Grandma was a youngster. It’s called porcelana and women have credited it for removing age spots for decades.
If you spend hours at a time on the computer, be sure you use a rest for your wrists. It will help ward off carpal tunnel syndrome.
THESE FEET WERE MADE FOR WALKIN’

Did you know . . . an average human being loses almost a cup of liquid a day through their feet? Or that a baby’s foot is made up almost entirely of cartilage? They will harden as the feet grow.
Keep a pumice stone handy so you can put it to work on those heels as you step out of the shower.

Use a few drops of essential oil in your next footbath! Pamper your feet. Treat yourself to a pedicure! Try a foot massage. It’s relaxing and rejuvenating. Try it on yourself or ask your partner and trade off. Everyone wins! If your ankles and feet are swelling, it’s a sure sign you are holding fluids. Try to avoid sitting for long periods at a time and cut down on your salt intake.

Stilettos are beautiful and yes, they do make you look sexy, HOWEVER, you should avoid long walks while wearing them. In fact, you should always wear sensible shoes. Ha! Fat chance, right? Seriously, what about a compromise? Wear sensible shoes when you are coming and/or going from work and keep the heels in a tote bag.

For extremely dry feet, lather on a layer of cocoa butter to each foot, slip your feet into plastic bags and pull on a pair of oversize socks. Leave on overnight while sleeping and when you awaken the next morning your feet will feel smooth, silky and soft.
Add milk to a footbath for softening the feet.

HOW TO AVOID BAD HAIR DAYS
They say that a woman’s hair is her crowning glory. Even so, all women have those days when we wish we could cover every unwieldy strand!
Get a good hair cut! It all begins right here. Without a good hair cut, nothing else you do will give you the results you want.

In order to have a good hair cut, you need a great hair stylist and when you find one, keep him/her! Jumping around from stylist to stylist can be hazardous to your hair. The old adage about “getting what you pay for” is very true when it comes to something as important as your stylist. Yes, it’s possible to find a good stylist at the “fast hair” shops, but the cost to your hair while searching may be more than you care to spend. Fast hair shops usually employ new, young stylists with little experience. They earn a minimal wage and do not have to invest in hair care products to use on their clients. Stylists that you find in upscale shops and salons are usually independent contractors leasing space in the salon. The salon provides the work station, utilities and in some cases a receptionist to service the stylists. These stylists are generally more experienced and have built a solid clientele. They purchase their own products used in servicing their clients either from the salon or other suppliers and set their own prices.

HOW IS YOUR SMILE?
Did you know . . . a knocked out tooth may be replanted if you act quickly? Don’t clean the tooth, just wrap it in a damp cloth and hustle off to the dentist. If you can get there within 30 minutes you’ve got a 90% chance of saving it. If you wear braces, get extra calcium. Adjusting the position of teeth can leave small gaps in the jawbone. These need to be replaced with new bone. Take it as a supplement or eat plenty of green leafy vegetables.

IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS
Did you know . . . even in the enlightened period of time we live in, most women do not conduct regular breast exams on themselves? So what is a segment on breast exam doing in a beauty book? Well, in order to use the tips in this guide, you have to be around to do it!
Make a self-exam of your breasts part of your daily beauty routine. It doesn’t take long and you can do it in the shower or in the bath. Just do it. More than 90 percent of all breast lumps are discovered by women themselves. The majority of all breast lumps are benign. One in ten women will develop breast cancer at some time in her life. Thus far, breast cancer cannot be prevented. But, with regular breast self-examination (BSE) and periodic screening, breast cancer can be detected early and treated properly! If you don’t know how to conduct the exam, ask your doctor for a chart that will teach you how. Then just do it!
Remember to keep a smile on your face!

————————

In the beginning man worked hard to survive. He had many things to do. Hunting, keeping warm, finding berries, and taking care of his family. He did not have time to worry about being fat, as there wasn’t an issue of fat. It was survival of the fittest, those that were not fit, perished, or had someone to watch over them. Man’s goal was survival.
Women labored hard, and many died in childbirth. There were many deaths of their infants, so women kept reproducing to keep the family surviving. They scrubbed, cooked, gathered food and wood and tended after the children. They did not have time to worry about things that made them happy or not happy. Their goal was survival.

Well, times have changed, people don’t work physically as hard as their ancestors did, they lose fewer children and the dying in labor has been brought down to a small percentage. Emergency hospitals with ambulances and new technology and medicines have saved the lives of countless people.
Living a Healthier life is rather simple. It is the matter of knowing some essential ingredients to happiness.

Statistics tell you the following:
• Those who are married are far happier than those who are not.
• Those who have some kind of faith or religion are happier
• Those who go to bed at night and sleep an average of 8 hours
• Those who have friends and family
• Those who are mentally and physically healthy
• Those who have a regular schedule to live by

Sure, having extra money makes people happier too. However, the above ingredients are the true essence of happiness. Money just adds extra. Having money and not the above can end up feeling pretty empty.
ADD IT TO YOUR LIFE….

Water, you need water. Try to add at least 4 more glasses of water to your daily diet. The rule of thumb for water is 8 glasses per day; and one extra for every ten pounds overweight you are.

Fats, you need to know about fats. There are different kinds of fats. Some fats are better for you than others. A rule of thumb on fats is, stay away from hydrogenated fats. These are fats that solidify. They are in store bought cakes, cookies, crackers, chips and even in bran muffins. Read the labels.

Choose fats that are polyunsaturated or fats such as olive oil.
And, eat some fish to get some omega-3 fats.

Carbohydrates are your immediate fuel source. An average is about 55 percent of your diet in carbohydrates. So, a rule of thumb is, figure your protein grams, get around 25% fat per day, and the rest would be in carbohydrates.
The heavier you are, the more protein you need and the fewer carbohydrates you will need.
Fiber - work up to getting 25 grams of Fiber per day
Protein - averages about 20 percent.
Women divide weight by 2.2 and multiply that by .8 to get the kilograms.

For men it averages one gram per each kilogram of weight. So, a man would divide his weight in pounds by 2.2 then multiply that by .10
Fats - try not to exceed more than 25 percent fat in your daily diet. 30 percent is acceptable, too. That does not mean you can’t have a junk food fast food hamburger … it just means that if you do eat that 55 percent fat burger that you are going to have to cut down on other fat filled foods for the rest of the day to balance it out.

Make exchanges gradually. Suppose you drink whole milk … work down to 2 percent, replacing two of your cups per day until you can completely change over. If you are on two percent milk, work down to 1 percent.
Add bran to your cereals for extra fiber. Also, add it in your baking.
You need to balance your diet with vegetables and fruits, too. Try adding different colors to your plate. Maybe an orange yam, and some green beans, to add color. More variety of food colors brings more variety of vitamins.

Eat more raw foods.
Remember, exchange things, add things, and do it gradually. Remember, live all things in life in moderation and soon you will be bouncy and vibrant and well on your way to living BEAUTIFULLY!

What does Antioxydant have to do with anti-aging? You might not think in the first place that Antioxydant has a great benefit to prevent early aging. Furthermore, you might not be aware of what Antioxydant is and how it is also beneficial for your health.

Antioxydant can make you look younger than your age. Antioxydant is a very important substance that is needed by our body to protect vital cell structures. This is done by neutralizing hazardous molecules called the free radicals which can be formed by environmental factors such as chemical fumes and pollution. You see that they can cause harm to your skin, and may go further to cause skin aging. Thus, you are going to need Antioxydant to protect this outer part of the body.

The next thing you’ll ask is what the real source of Antioxydant which is used for anti-aging is. That is a great question! To answer this, you must have heard so often through many health articles and advertisements that vitamin E is a great nutrient for skin. Do you know why this vitamin is so precious? The answer is because you can find Antioxydant benefits in vitamin E! Again, it is because vitamin E protects your skin from free radicals.

Many people, especially women, sometimes feel that they get old so fast. They feel that their skin ages earlier. That is why they urge for some anti-aging medication or any methods for keeping their skin young and healthy. Indeed, taking foods that contain Antioxydants is the most effective and practical thing to do.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are great sources of Antioxydant, which of course work as good anti-aging therapy. And truly, fruits and vegetables should be parts of a healthy eating plan. They should be taken in a daily basis. To mention it again, don’t forget that those foods contain important vitamins that role as Antioxydant.

Take anti-aging food sources and start living healthy now! For days to come, enjoy your younger and healthier skin ever!

About Our Skin

The human skin is a complex organ. It consists of several layers, which are involved in a range of functions, from defence against external pathogens to temperature regulation. The skin is the largest organ of the human body and renews itself every 28 - 30 days.

In an earlier article, I provided a detailed description of the various functions of each of the layers that make up the skin, so I will not discuss these here. This article however, will look at the potential problems dead skin cells can cause if a proper skin care regime is not followed.

Skin Structure Review

The structure of the skin is basically divided into two general layers, the dermis (link to previous article) and the epidermis. The latter is divided further into 5 layers. The layer at the very surface of the skin is called the Stratum corneum, which consists mainly of dead skin cells.

Dead Skin Cells

The body sheds these dead skin cells of it’s own accord, however, exfoliation through the use of skin brushes, luffah’s or exfoliant skin care products, helps to stimulate new cell growth and reduces build up of dead skin cells.

So, how do dead skin cells impact the skin’s health? As the dead skin cells build up on the surface of the skin, they have the potential to act as a barrier to absorption of nutrients from nourishing creams and lotions; they also have the potential to block sweat glands, which can result in white heads, black heads or acne.

Of course you do need a certain amount of dead skin cells to cover your skin, however, it does not need to be very thick to execute it’s function as a barrier. If the rate of skin cell production/death is higher than normal, as for example is psoriasis, the body is unable to shed old cells quickly enough for the new cells to replace them. As the new cells push their way to the surface of the skin, the old cells create a build up of dead skin, which appear as raised patches.

Under normal circumstances, every minute of the day we lose about 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells off the surface of our skin - that’s about 4 kilograms per year of dead skin cells. In fact, much of the dust in a house is to a great extent comprised of our dead skin cells.

Effective regulation of dead skin cells

There are basically two reasons for using a daily skin care regime. The first is to keep the skin clean and the dead skin cell layer to a healthy minimum. The second reason is to provide the skin with nutrients and nourishment for optimum functionality.

As aforementioned, using a natural exfoliant skin care product is a great option to gently remove some of the dead skin cells and provide some nutrients at the same time. Following the exfoliation using a cleanser to remove deep-seated dirt and stale oils from skin pores and wrinkles is a necessary next step. This is not just to remove dirt etc., but also helps to keep microbes down, as many of the natural skin cleansers utilise essential oils, which are anti-septic in nature and thus help reduce the chance of skin infections.

Once the cleansing has been completed, it is time to close the pores of the skin to prevent dust and other environmental particles from entering the open pores. This is where a natural toning lotion is ideal. Being formulated to contain astringents and other nourishing ingredients, toners will prepare the skin for the final step - Moisturising.

Moisturising your skin is critical. Moisturisers provide essential nutrients for the skin and at the same time help the skin to retain moisture, preventing dehydration of the skin and acceleration of skin cell death.

Implementing a good daily skin care regime will not only help to remove excessive dead skin cells, but will provide the skin with moisture, nutrients and assist it in its defence against microbial infections.

As you age, your skin becomes slack and loses its luster. You develop wrinkles and your face can look sunken in. It’s amazing how forehead wrinkles and drooping eyebrows can age a person’s appearance. The solution to this problem is a brow lift. Often, as you age, people will ask if you’re angry or sad or tired when you are actually in a cheerful mood. These aging affects on the forehead not only make you look older, but also make you seem like you’re in a negative mood. This is why many people have chosen to undergo cosmetic surgery to lift their brow, shedding years and those negative emotions that are unconsciously emitted by a sagging brow.

As with most cosmetic surgery procedures, many surgeons will give local anesthesia and a sedative, but others will use general anesthesia which will put you to sleep through the entire operation. There are two different ways to have a brow lift: the conventional “open” method and the endoscopic method.

In the classic method of brow lifts, an incision will be made on the scalp, usually just after the hair line, although it is sometimes put before the hairline or in the middle of the scalp because of patients who are experiencing hair loss. The forehead skin is the lifted to alter the forehead muscles. Then the brow is lifted and the excess skin is trimmed off and stitched back into place leaving the patient with a smooth brow.

Endoscopic procedures are becoming more favorable because the incisions are smaller. Rather than one long incision, four or five smaller incisions are made in the scalp and a tiny camera, an endoscope, is inserted so the doctor can see below the skin. Then the muscles are altered and the excess skin is tightened.

Most of us are gifted with beautiful skin but are not careful in preserving its original texture. Therefore during the climatic changes the tone of the skin changes and turns rough. If you regularly provide nutrition to the skin it is likely to remain glowing.

The food we consume also has a bearing on the way our skin looks. Foods containing greasy, oily and fatty substances make the oil glands overactive and therefore we are more likely to face various skin problems. Water is a very good as it cleanses the skin pores. It fights against all the toxins in the body. Therefore it is necessary to consume 8-10 glasses of water per day.

Besides, scheduling an exercise program everyday is very good. The excessive oily substances are drained from your body through the sweat that is produced when you exercise. The workouts also relieve you from all types of stress that reflect on your face directly.

Take care of your skin by applying the proper type of lotions or creams. Do not use the products that contain strong chemicals as it could ruin your skin. Do not smoke because it directly affects your skin and speeds up your ageing process.

Collagen injection is a type of cosmetic procedure that augments skin and soft tissue to make them firmer and younger looking. The benefits of collagen injections are that collagen is a natural substance to be in the body so it incorporates with the body and doesn’t degrade as quickly over time, there aren’t serious complications or side effects, and it is a non-invasive procedure. Collagen injections are used to improve unsightly scars and fill in cheeks that have sunken in.

Different types of collagen fillers have different advantages. Zyderm is a bovine collagen that lasts for six to ten months and is used for shallow scars.

Zyplast is another bovine collagen, but is crossed with a heavier filler so it lasts longer than Zyderm (nine months to a year.) These two are easy to implant and are not often abused but certain patients can have allergic reactions to the collagen.

Fibrel is a filler containing gelatin, amino caprotic acid and plasma or saline and lidocaine. Its effects are seen for one to five years and is a good alternative for people who are allergic to Zyderm and Zyplast.

Artecoll is a synthetic filler consisting of polymethyl methacrylate microspheres (PMMA), collagen, lidocaine and saline. After the collagen degrades, the PMMA spheres are left. It has been shown to be reliable and long lasting in European markets but has yet to be released in the United States.

Hylan B gel is another filler made from substances in rooster coxcombs. It lasts nine months to a year but requires a series of injections rather than just one session and, again, has not yet been released in the United States.

Resoplast is another bovine collagen similar to Zyderm and causing the same allergic reactions.

Autologen is a filler made from autologous collagen which resists enzymatic degradation and allergic reactions and has been shown to last for over a year. Similarly, Isolagen is autologous collagen taken from the patient and prepared for intradermal injection. Isolagen has not been fully tested yet. AlloDerm is, in fact, not an injection at all, but is a dermal sheet and has been used mostly for burn victims and patients undergoing oral surgery.

Finally there are fat injections. These take time and careful preparation before they can be used. The fat is removed from a region such as the abdomen, thighs, knees, or backside. The fat has to be purified, washed, separated, centrifuged and prepared before use.

Naturally, since you’ve undergone an artificial treatment – even if it doesn’t involve any sort of surgical procedure at all – there are no guarantees that your now white teeth would remain white for the rest of your life. And that’s why it’s important to do everything you can to retain the effect of the teeth whitening treatment you had undergone.

First, always remember to brush your teeth. You’re not excused this time so no more slacking! You can’t just brush your teeth only in the mornings. Now, you have to brush your teeth at least every after meal and of course before you sleep and after you wake up. This is not just to retain the whitening effects of the treatments – it’s also to retain your friends because who in his right mind could tolerate having a friend with bad breath?

Floss! It’s a hygienic habit that sadly, only a few people had come to pick. Flossing your teeth is as equally important as brushing your teeth because it removes the dirt that a toothbrush is unable to reach. And before you ask what clean teeth have to do with your white teeth, believe me, it’s very much related so complain no more and just do what I say!

Avoid nicotine, softdrinks and other food or drink that could cause teeth discoloration. If you’re a chain smoker, think of it this way. Quitting smoking would be like killing two birds with one stone – not only would you be able to make your white teeth last longer, you’ll also be able to make your life last just a little bit longer! And when it comes to softdrinks, well, haven’t you heard of diabetes?! There’s no cure to that so avoid softdrinks and just be satisfied with your bright smile!

Continue using products such as whitening floss, mouth rinse, whitening strips and whitening toothpastes to make the whiteness of your teeth last longer. Definitely, it’s a cheaper method rather than letting it deteriorate once more until you have to undergo another teeth whitening treatment once more. When it comes to whitening toothpastes, you need not use it everyday. The same goes with mouth rinse and whitening floss. With whitening strips, you’re advise to use it every after meal and let it stick for half an hour or so.

Schedule regular check ups with your dentist. This is not your mother in law we’re talking about so there’s no reason why you have to avoid him! And don’t make it an annual or semi-annual visit because that’s not what I mean!

Michael N. is webmaster of Teeth-Whitening-Insight.com . He provides more information about teeth whitening and tips on how to make your teeth whitening treatment last longer at his website.

Generally, chemical peels can be arranged into three categories of light, medium and deep. Light peels are used to help dry skin, acne, liver spots, sun spots, diminish fine facial wrinkles and pore size and improve overall skin texture. Light peels are done in a series of six to eight sessions with two or three week periods in between. After a light peel the skin is only slightly red for about a day. Medium chemical peels are used to remove larger wrinkles and precancerous skin lesions. These peels are done only once every few years and the skin will be burned for about a week during which time the patient should stay indoors and out of the sun. Deep chemical peels eliminate larger wrinkles and can have facelift-like effects. However skin will remain damaged for a month or two after treatment.

Some types of chemicals used for chemical peels include alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) which are used to smooth rough, dry skin, controls acne, improves sun-damaged skin, correct pigment problems, and as TCA pre-treatment, trichoracetic acid (TCA) which is used to smooth out fine wrinkles, remove superficial blemishes and correct pigment problems, and phenol which is used to correct skin problems caused by sun exposure, birth control pills and aging, to remove pre-cancerous growths and to smooth out coarse wrinkles.
