In the past, having a restorative or cosmetic dentistry procedure involving porcelain crowns, veneers, or fillings required a minimum of two visits to the dentist office and waiting for weeks to have your custom-made dental restorations created and returned to the office.

Now, some cosmetic dentists like Dr. Kodish in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are using CEREC technology to provide you with porcelain dental restorations in just one office visit. You can now benefit from having custom-made porcelain veneers, fillings, or crowns in just one visit.

CEREC technology creates your porcelain restorations through the use of an optical impression and computer aided design.

In order for the cosmetic dentist to make an optical impression, they must paint your tooth with a non-toxic titanium dioxide powder. This powder allows the infrared waves sent at your tooth to be interpreted more precisely. The result is a high-resolution optical impression of you tooth. This optical impression can be viewed on a monitor next to the chair.

Once the optical impression has been taken, the cosmetic dentist can begin making adjustments and designing your restoration. All of this is performed chair side, allowing you to watch the dentist design your custom porcelain restoration.

Once the cosmetic dentist has finished designing your porcelain restoration, the computer aided design machine will mill the restoration out of a block of porcelain. A mill that uses high-speed diamond burs manufactures the restoration. Your custom-made porcelain restoration is created while you wait and takes just 10 minutes.

When the restoration is finished, the cosmetic dentist will permanently bond it to your tooth. The porcelain restoration you receive will last as long as any other porcelain restoration, and will work exactly the same; the only difference is that it takes a fraction of the time to receive it.

Tanning products, both sunless and sun, go to work on the epidermis, or the outside layer of your skin, and not the dermis or inner layer. However, the layer of epidermis that is affected by sunless versus the layer affected by sun tanning products differs.

Sun tanning lotions, sprays, gels or foams, go to work on the stratum basale or deepest layer and sunless tanning items go to work on the stratum corneum or outermost layer.

WHEN TO APPLY:

Since most self tanning lotions have no sunscreen for protection outdoors, the best time to use self tanners is at night before going to bed.

If done earlier, allow a minimum of two hours and test for staining before putting back on your regular clothes. If your lotion contains extra coloring formula or if you’re using a spray, staining could be a major issue and you won’t to go to bed and stain bedding; so use these types of products earlier in the evening or when you have more time to "dry" after applying (at least a few hours).

WHAT TO DO:

Gather your necessary items together. Choose what you want to wear if you want tanning lines, whether it’s a swimsuit, undergarments, etc. Use caution in your choices because the product may stain or run so choose old clothing, especially without nylon (permanently stains this fabric), and not loose clothing (to inhibit runny lotions). You will also need to be able to shower or wash beforehand.

Get a cotton washcloth or whatever you use to exfoliate your skin (sponge and other product, etc.), soap, any moisturizer you may want to use, your self tanning product, disposable clear gloves, a nail brush, a ball cap, hair pins or accessories to keep hair from your face, a sponge roller brush or paintbrush if you will apply product to your back, and access to a clock.

APPLYING:

If you are not going to use disposable gloves, you will need to wash your hands and scrub your nails often while applying the tanning product so that they don’t stain orange.

WHERE TO APPLY:

Begin with a shower or washing to remove dead, flaky and dry skin. Wash with your washcloth or exfoliation sponge, gently going in a circular motion. Special areas of focus are your knees and lower legs, your ankles and feet, and your elbows. When finished, dry yourself, including your hair, thoroughly, and get hair up off neck. Let steam out of the room, if you’ll be continuing in there. (Remember: moisture like steam & sweat can cause the self tanning product to run / wear off.)

MOISTURIZER STAGE:

Gently rub moisturizer into the special areas of focus mentioned above (knees, ankles, etc) to prepare for the self tanning solution. Some apply this to the face and neck areas, too.

SELFTANNER STAGE:

It’s time to apply your tanning product.Beginners should practice on small areas first.

FIVE MINUTE LEGS: Begin by applying the tanning product to your legs. Work with one leg at a time, applying in a circular motion from top to bottom. For feet and ankles, go ahead and apply a little thinner coating. Most prefer to cover the torso first, using the roller brush or paintbrush on the back, then continue with the arms.

FIVE MINUTE UPPER BODY: Continue applying product upwards in circular motion. Most prefer to cover the torso first, using the roller brush or paintbrush on the back, then continue with the arms. If it’s taking awhile to cover all areas and you’re not using gloves, remember to check the clock and wash hands and nails thoroughly before continuing. (Treat elbows as you did knees).

FIVE MINUTE NECK-UP: Time to finish up with the neck, face, ears, nose, cheeks. Go lightly is the motto for these areas.

DRYING STAGE:

Now it’s time for drying. Depending upon the tanning product and your genetics, you will want to wash and exfoliate the dry, flaky, dead skin cells and reapply product every few days or so.

You might be asking why do my skin care products have to be certified organic in order to have multiple uses? Good question! The answer is simply this; I wouldn’t recommend using any products that aren’t certified organic anywhere other than where it’s intended to be used due to the fact that many of the products can contain carcinogens and other toxic substances. Certified organic skin care products are however a different story as they do not contain anything toxic.

First Tip: Use your organic hair styling gel to darken your eyebrows. Forget having to use your eyeliner just take a dab of hair gel and smooth it over each eyebrow to generate a deeper tone. This will also keep your eyebrows in position throughout the day.

Second Tip: If your used to using a waterproof mascara and are having trouble with smudging when it’s not waterproof remember these tips when you apply. First of all set your foundation, powder, eyeshadow etc. with a light hydrating mist and let that dry. Next add another thin layer of powder under the eye to make sure there isn’t any moisture that will cause the mascara to smudge. Only after this should you apply your mascara.

Third Tip: Before you go to bed at night apply a small dab of lotion (only if it is certified organic) to your lips to keep them extra soft. (And don’t forget to smother your feet with lotion so that you don’t get dry callused feet)

Fourth Tip: Use an exfoliating scrub on your legs to remove dead skin then nourish them with lotion. You can also use a hydrating mist on your legs if you have one.

Fifth Tip: After applying all your makeup (except your mascara) spray a light mist over your face to set your makeup for the day. A hydrating mist is the perfect choice for setting your makeup.

“Carmen. I want every woman to be mysterious and ardent. I have this urge to be alive. To be somebody. I’m a gypsy by nature. I am Carmen.” (from a conversation with Sophia Grosjman, one of outstanding perfumers in the world).

This answer was expected from Sophia Grosjman, one of the most brilliant and famous contemporary perfumers in the world. She has worked on blockbuster fragrances like Eternity, Tresor, Jaipure, Kashaya and Paris.

Born in Belarus over fifty years ago, she has always had a passion for flowers and scents. Very soon she immigrated to the USA and started to work at IFF as a laboratory technician. Each time she created a new perfume, she experimented it on her husband. She put the perfume on in the middle of the night, and her husband would say: "Can I smell?" "But the public is what I count on", she confesses.

Once, she worked on something very sexy, very spiritual; and got into a cab wearing it, the Indian driver said: "I can’t drive". He loved it. He was ready to give her a longer ride. There is another interesting story that happened with Sophia Grosjman. When she has finished working on Yves Saint Laurent’s perfume Paris, she sprayed it on her skin at the office before she was on her way home. It was late at night. She felt someone was following her. She started running. He continued to follow her. She kept running, and he was running after her, and then he said: "Please don’t run. I like this perfume!"

Perfumes are much more than a beauty product nowadays. Yet, it is so easy to buy a new perfume today for you or as a perfume gift. The best place to buy new perfumes is definitely online perfume stores. Enjoy.

Cosmetic companies like Erno Laszlo, Estee Lauder and Lancome, train their sales associates to sell unsuspecting women hundreds of dollars of unnecessary skin care products.

SELLING SKIN CARE, TELLING LIES - 75% of all drugs and cosmetics are derived from nature.

One of the lies, which builds the sale, is that the eye area is too frail and delicate for your facial moisturizer. "Only an eye cream will work on the eye area", another lie. "You must use our cleanser" in order to receive the full benefits of our moisturizer. "You won’t receive the full anti aging benefits if you don’t use the whole system". All Lies.

Try cleaning your skin with baby shampoo, milk and sugar, equal parts. Want to look younger, add cornmeal to the cleanser. Acne a problem, add aspirin. Splash to rinse 10 times with very warm water. Need a toner, use Green Tea or Orange or Aloe Vera Juice. Moisturize with a vitamin e capsule or soy bean oil (vitamin e). For melasma or brown spots, an over the counter fade cream (under $10.00) twice a day after cleansing takes the place of an in office procedure.

Erno Laszlo won’t even sell individual items, they insist you use everything from Erno Laszlo, alcohol, mineral oil and petroleum based.

The news media won’t tell you that cosmetic companies like Erno Laszlo use, pore clogging petroleum and mineral oil and charge the consumer up to $100 a jar for sugar, castor oil and fragrance. Can you imagine being a writer for a magazine trying to tell the truth about their advertisers skin care products?

There is no market for the truth. Cosmetic companies use sugar or glycol acid in anti aging products because sugar penetrates the skin and the skin cell. This means, yes you can take a bath in sugar and you will look younger. Your skin will become more supple looking because the sugar plumps up the skin cells in your skin.

If a cosmetic company creates a chemical that penetrates the skin and the skin cell, it would be considered a drug, not a cosmetic and require a doctors prescription. Nature provides aspirin (salicylic acid), derived from a plant, the active ingredient in acne treatment skin care products, from Proactive and Erno Laszlo.

The grape seed extract in eye care products from Erno Laszlo and Estee Lauder, is Thompson Seedless Green Grapes and green tea is green tea. How can women spend so much money buying such inferior skin care,,just bad copies of natural ingredients (food).

Fruit acid in cosmetics are made from: apples, oranges, grapefruit, berries, all very good for your skin. Cosmetic companies make chemicals that mimic the action of fruit on your face. Honey contains a natural peroxide and is a great skin care treatment for dry skin.

Where can a woman go for a true education on her skin, not the department store cosmetic counter, they have lies for the consumer.

The media does not protect the consumer against cosmetic companies because they are afraid of offending their advertisers or even their shareholders. What about a book you say that exposes that fact that exfoliation with cornmeal will make your skin look younger and aspirin can replace a product sold only with a prescription. Same problem, who would publish the book, a publisher owned by corporation who owns a skin care company. Where would such a book be advertised?

Can you literally rub lines and wrinkes away with a wash cloth and water, yes. This is a very inexpensive treatment for getting rid of "crows feet".

Aloe Vera smells really bad, but boy does it penetrate the skin without an rx. Natural ingredients like milk, sugar and aloe are synthesized preserved with chemicals and mixed into mineral oil and water for $65.00 from Erno Laszlo.

The same corporation that owns the skin care company, owns the newspaper, magazine, book publisher and television station. Did you know that garlic kills lung cancer cells in a test tube?

What Is Tooth Whitening?
Tooth whitening is a process that “bleaches” the teeth, removing it of stains on the enamel and dentin to affect a lightening of any discoloration present. A common tooth whitening procedure uses carbamide peroxide poured over a custom mouth-guard worn over the teeth.

•external stains: tobacco, tea, coffee and juices like grape and apple, coffee, tea and tobacco
•internal stains: excessive fluoride (during teeth formation), aging, trauma, nerve deneration, tetracycline (while teeth are forming)

Only professional whitening procedures such as the custom tray bleaching can remove both internal and external stains. Over-the-counter tooth whitening products like toothpastes only remove the external stains.

Who Can Undergo Tooth Whitening?
Anybody can benefit from a tooth whitening procedure. A certain procedure though may be less effective for some people. Patients whose teeth are stained by tetracycline may experience difficulty in achieving the desired whiteness. People with veneers, crowns or fillings may also experience uneven whiteness because these dental fixtures do not whiten along with the rest of the teeth.

Can A Pregnant or Nursing Woman Bleach Her Teeth?
It is recommended and dentists agree that a pregnant woman and nursing mother should avoid any teeth whitening procedure. The reason for this is there’s no clinical studies done yet to find out the effects of the bleaching agents to a woman’s health if she’s pregnant or nursing.

Whys Are There Teeth That Do Not Whiten Evenly With The Rest?
The sides of your teeth and the biting edges whiten more quickly than the rest. This is so because of the thicker enamel in these areas. Teeth with thicker enamel respond faster to the bleaching agent than teeth with thinner enamel. Continue with your whitening procedure and the whiteness will even out eventually.

Is Tooth Whitening Safe?
The most preferred tooth whitening procedure is the custom-fit tray bleaching that uses carbamide peroxide. This procedure, when done under the supervision of an oral healthcare professional or a dentist, is safe. There’s no danger of the bleaching agent harming your teeth and gums. It also does not damage the enamel or cause any tooth weakening. The only short term side-effect is tooth sensitivity which goes away quickly when the process is stopped.

If your have any more questions that concern you but are not discussed in this article, consult your dentist. The more you know about tooth whitening, the more confident you will be of any procedure you will choose.

Dental implants offer many advantages over traditional tooth replacement procedures. Gone are the days when patients were forced to simply wear unsightly or uncomfortable caps, crowns or dentures. Often insecure and artificial looking, these solutions left people unable to talk and eat with confidence. Dental implants minimize the risks associated with crowns and caps, while maximizing the rewards by producing natural looking, healthy and most of all safer teeth that let recipients smile with conviction.

Dental implants are essentially artificial teeth that that are placed within the jaw. Although they are typically more aesthetically pleasing that the alternatives like crowns or dentures, the real reason many people are turning to dental implants to replace their missing teeth boils down to safety. Implants are a safer, more tooth-friendly procedure that has little to no adverse effect on neighboring teeth or gums.

When a patient elects to insert a bridge in support of missing or decayed teeth, adjacent teeth are usually altered to support the procedure. Over time this leads to gum and dental erosion. With implants, the replacement tooth looks virtually identical to the real thing, and the patient suffers nothing in terms of later tooth decay.

Today there are two dental implant procedures that most periodontists employ:

Endosteal is the most common procedure. Here, various types of screws, cylinders or blades are selected for insertion directly into the jawbone, with each implant holding one or more prosthetic teeth.

Subperiosteal is a less common alternative that is used for patients who are unable to wear dentures and have minimal bone height. The implants are placed on top of the jaw with the metal framework inserted into gums.

Dental implants typically have a very high success rate, but typically require a patient that is in good overall health. Since we are dealing with invasive surgery, candidates who experience advanced gum disease or weak jaw bones may not be approved for the procedure. But for those that do qualify, they can expect a healthy, natural-looking smile that will, provided they continue with proper dental hygiene, last for years to come.

Locations offering dental implant surgery are located all across the country, particularly in the Northeast (New York, New Jersey and Boston), Nevada (Las Vegas and Summerlin), Los Angeles as well as various locations in Canada.

Dental Implants Info provides comprehensive information on the procedure and cost of standard and mini dental implants, and focuses on the Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York regions. Dental Implants Info is the sister site of Rhinoplasty Web.

There are presently two types of teeth whitening treatments that are open to you.

Actually, the difference lies more on the procedure rather than the treatment yourself. And I’ll let you find out for yourself as you read the following paragraphs.

Over The Counter Teeth Whitening Treatments
If you’re saving up for a lot of expenses that usually comes at the end of the month – read: utility bills, credit card payments, mortgage payments and the likes – then maybe, you just have to do with over the counter teeth whitening treatments. But don’t be so glum because it’s not that bad.

The main difference between over the counter teeth whitening treatments and the other is just that in this case, you’ll be the one wearing the white coat. But hey, if you’ve got faith in your abilities, there’s nothing wrong with that, right? And at least you’ll be able to save on money and time. Professional teeth whitening treatment could take forever. You know how some dentists are, ever the perfectionists, wanting to whiten everything, even the deepest recesses of your teeth, something that not even your husband or wife would be able to notice.

There are two primary types of over the counter teeth whitening treatments and these are bleaching solutions and whitening toothpastes. And because this type of teeth whitening treatment is also known as do it yourself and at home teeth whitening treatment, understand that it’s all up to you how the procedure goes. If in doubt of your capabilities, you could always ask for your friend’s help. Anyway, it’s just the measurements that matter most so just remember that using too little of the whitening product is infinitely better than using too much which could lead to unwanted complications.

Professional Teeth Whitening Treatments
But let’s just say that you’re blessed in terms of finances and your only problem in life is your very yellow teeth. Right on. There’s only one thing to do then – and that’s not to mess anymore with your teeth and let a professional handle the problem. Let them do what they do best and all you have to do is sit back, open your mouth, relax and wait for the mirror to show you your new shiny white teeth.

When deciding a hair routine, you first have to determine you hair type. Hair texture is an important part of determining how your hair is cut, how you wash it and even what types of gel or mousse you need to use.

If you have fine hair, cutting in long angled layers around your face, leaving the rest at shoulder length. Color will add an appearance of volume, but if you aren’t a fan of hair coloring, you can try highlighting the top layers. You may have to wash your hair a couple of times a day, especially in the summer heat. Use a deep cleaning shampoo to get out any oils that might weigh your hair down and make it flat. If your hair is dry, you can use a gloss to add moisture to the ends. Try a protein-based volumizer and work it into the base of the scalp. Pin you hair about 2” from the hairline and let it dry. This will make you look like you have extra volume and height on top.

Wavy hair must have layers. Length isn’t as important. Layers keep the hair from getting to big. Shampoo only once a day and use a silicone based gloss or gel or mousse instead of an alcohol base product. These alcohol base products tend to dry out your hair. You can pin it up in the day and let it loose at night.

A curly hairstyle will warrant long hair, but ask for a blunt cut to keep you hair from getting too big. Wash your hair every couple of days, and use a heavy conditioner and don’t rinse it out too completely. You’ll need the extra moisture. Same goes with using alcohol based mousse and gels. Use silicone-based products to keep you hair from drying out.

Maybe these tips will help you in your hairstyle issues and allow you to try something new or some new products. Remember, you hair style and hair texture have to work together.
